Catherine Zeta Jones and her family attended the Royal Investiture at Buckingham Palace earlier today in London.
She was there to receive a CBE from Prince Charles in honour of services to the film industry and to charity.
The Oscar winning Welsh actress opted to wear Michael Kors for her big occasion. This will not come as a surprise considering she was front row at the designers 30th anniversary New York Fashion Week show last week.
She wore a taupe double face jacket and shift dress with a glorious ‘Mother of the Bride’ hat and gold pumps.
I’m not crazy about the gold pumps, but a full on matchy matchy look would have lacked imagination.
She looks absolutely beautiful here.

She is simply ELEGANT!! love it!!!
ABOUT BLOODY TIME THEY GAVE HER SOMETHING! as always she looks so elegant and beautiful.
that medal looks weird i thought they were always fully gold but catherines has blue on it.
She’s never looked so beautiful (red carpet gowns excepted, but that’s a whole different thing).
I think she looks lovely. A subtle pop of colour somewhere would have been nice though, and still appropriate for the occasion.
I love it!
I don’t like it. I all looks like something a 70 year old granny would wear.
i agree. she could have been event appropriate in a say.. burgundy dress suit which would suit her complexion better. everything is so *YAWN* in this look
She looks lovely. I think what she is wearing is very event appropriate.
she looks great. I think maroon, mauve or plum pumps would’ve added a good subtle pop of color…
How gorgeous is this woman!! I agree that a different shoe would have been nice, but she looks fabulous anyway. BDOTW?
I am going to move to London so I can wear a fabulous hat like that without getting funny looks. She looks perfect.
Very sedate but eminently event-appropriate and she looks utterly gorgeous.
I think this is a nice look and I am LOVING the hat!
This look ages her but I think is event appropriate, after all, it’s Buckingham Palaca. A pop color would have been less boring, I agree with some previous comments. “Mother of the Bride” hat, lol… a very english accessory.
Completely agree. When you’re going to Buckingham Palace you don’t go for sexy or anything less than super classy.
