I dragged my tired self to the 9am show for Yigal Azrouël’s Fall 2011 presentation. It was well worth it.
The energetic vibrant collection was just the Cup of Joe I needed to wake me from my fashion week fatigue.
The menswear inspired collection celebrated the strength and power of artistic femininity.
We saw many outerwear pieces in this collection. I especially loved mandarin orange opera coat paired with a grey pullover and ivory cropped pants.
We saw very well tailored looks, oversized knit tails, coats rested on shoulders, starched white shirts, cropped cigarette pants and a few gowns on a colour palette of salmon pink, jade green, mandarin orange, grey, ivory and black.
Key accessories included black bow-ties, gold ties, headbands, leather and suede wedge ankle boots plus skinny belts.
Front Row: Vanessa Hudgens
Favourites: Check shearling vest, jade Swarovski crystal encrusted blouse paired with salmon pants and salmon dress with tux shirt and gold tie
Who I See Wearing This Collection: Chloe Sevigney, Alexa Chung, Kate Bosworth, Ginnifer Goodwin, Liv Tyler and Thandie Newton.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the amazing coverage FC. I feel as if I’m there with you, and that’s what makes it so amazing! I can’t believe the amount of tasks you juggle at once, *we are not worthy*
Question FC, what’s it like at these fashion shows conversation wise? Are you all very focused on the show or do people sometimes talk about politics, sports, etc?
Just wondering what the conversational mood is like
You are welcome.
People talk about all kinds of things, fashion life, what they are having for dinner.
The best thing about the show was seeing Vanessa Hudgens in the front row.
No, seriously, I find this collection quite boring for my liking. Maybe, each piece on its own with another styling will make it more interesting.
I quite liked this collection – very clarified, yet with many layers, lots of these pieces could be put to work in many different ways in any wardrobe. I would love to own any of the coats for sure! Thanks F.C. for covering shows like this, I really appreciate your efforts (the early morning start especially!), it introduces me to new designers to watch….
This collection is perfection! I want to see celebrities wearing it ASAP.
