I was super excited to attend my first Haltson presentation during New York Fashion Week.
The collection is designed by London based designer Marios Schwab. It’s his third collection for the iconic label with disco roots.
The venue at the Cedar Lake was full of stunning looks which wouldn’t look out of place at a glamorous party at Studio 54.
The designer was inspired by Lauren Hutton’s character in ‘American Gigolo’ so we were presented with fluid Grecian gown, pleated and draped cocktail dresses, shirt dresses, white cashmere column dresses, chocolate leather jackets, Mongolian fur jackets, jumpsuits and easy daywear looks.
The talking point of the presentation was when the lights dimmed and the white looks in the front glowed in the dark.
The Halston woman is statuesque, elegant and powerful.
Key accessories included paneled sandals and drop-front booties.
Favourites: ivory cashmere long cardigan with ivory cashmere knot detailed dress and chocolate leather jacket with plunging top and suede pants
Who I See Wearing This Collection: Angelina Jolie, Tilda Swinton, Lauren Hutton, Helen Mirren, Hilary Swank, Sarah Jessica Parker, Angie Harmon

Loving those silver sandels!
LOVE those silver sandals they are beautiful mmm, also love that mint green dress on the right side of the picture behind the first model.
I didn’t know they had a shoe collection too! Very nice…
Does Sarah Jessica Parker work for Halston or am mistaking? Does she have some creative input in the collections and shows?
Besides the Lauren Hutton influence, I think this collection was very much based on Roy F. Halston’s collections. Schwab gave his own interpretation of some staple pieces – the cape, the shirt dress, the jersey draped dress – and I’m so glad he did. The collection was amazing.
I’m not crazy about the museum-like presentation. I’d prefer seeing the movement of clothes. The models looked like the terracotta warriers I’ve seen in China. It was an amazing tourist attraction, but those warriers are funerary statues, so I wouldn’t want to see a live show like that.
