Best Use Of Colour Award
Cheryl Cole arrived at the 2011 Elle Style Awards to collect the ‘Best Music Award’ in London last night.
She opted for a bold bright red Alexander McQueen gown.
The simple plunging dress is a huge step up from a lot dark coloured looks she’s been wearing on the red carpet.
She teamed her look with matching red lippie and an Alexander McQueen lace four-finger clutch.
Cheryl does look good, but she was far from being the best dressed at this event.

I couldn’t believe this was Alexander Mcqueen at first. It’s just soo boring and slightly cheap looking.
Agree, this is really boring for McQueen. It’s quite shapeless too. The colour is the only thing it has going for it. My faves are Karen Gillan and Thandie Newton – and the worst are Emma Watson’s Icecapades-style dress and Donna Air’s Bacofoil number.

I think Cheryl added the cheapness.
Definitely, I wouldn’t be surprised if this dress actually originally had beautiful mcuqeen trademark structure. The hair, makeup, earrings and fake tan all add to the cheapening of the dress.

She looks amazing! Not cheap or tacky as she has done quite recently, however the visible boob tape lets her down a bit

Don’t tell me Emma’s terrible haircat or Blake and her ‘pregnant’ blue dress are your winners. Tendy looked amazing at BAFTAs but even she was off with that Vuitton dress

This look is really boring IMO and she still looks cheap and tacky to me. Someone with class would probably wear this dress well and make it more special.
Whoever dressed her should have made sure her tape could not be seen. I think the look would have benefited from her hair being pulled back but she still looks pretty.

This has been bothering for me awhile. Does she have natural curly hair that she straightens badly? Or is she wearing too much extensions? Why is her hair so big ALL THE TIME? *sigh*
I agree that she looks amazing, but the color saved the dress. Let’s face it. If it were black, it would be BORING!

I love her hair and makeup…a lot.
She looks good in the dress but it is pretty bland for a McQueen. Ms Cole would improve her look if she modified the big hair. It is oh so stuck in the 80s. The visible tape is a fashion faux pas that is unforgivable at a Style Awards event.
Perhaps trying to emulate Angelina Jolie and her red Atelier Versace from the few months back?
