Nicki Minaj In Givenchy Couture – 2011 Grammy Awards

This Is How You Stand Out On The Red Carpet At The Grammy’s Award
On the red carpet at the 2011 Grammy Awards Nicki Minaj said that Givenchy had made the leopard print look especially for her.

I guess she’s not a regular reader of Style.com, because this look was presented during the Givenchy Fall 2007 Couture presentation.

I have to say I love this look. It’s crazy, fun and perfect for the Grammy’s.

She’s having a lot of fun with fashion and I really love her energy and creativity.

I feel like I shouldn’t like this look, but I do. Nicki stayed so true to herself, and I’m pleased because she really works looks like this. I love the print.

On a side note, designer of the event’s going to be hard to choose between Jean Paul Gaultier, Givenchy, and Emilio Pucci.

  2. Alfie February 14, 2011 at 05:05 #

Wow, lots of Givenchy and Jean Paultier Haute Couture on the red carpet as well as Emilio Pucci!

  3. Ethne Blist February 14, 2011 at 05:07 #

I take the opposite stance. I am sick of all these pop stars with their performance antics. This is trashy.

Geez, do you want them to be boring? I love NIcki for shocking us every time. I’m glad we have people like Nicki, Rhianna, ect that never stop shocking whether they look bad or not.

I kind of feel the same – nothing here we haven’t seen recently from Gaga or Rihanna, and something about Minaj always feels a bit forced.

I love the head to toe leopard and the signature pink lips. I just wish she dyed her hair leopard than that Bride of Frankenstein wig.

  5. WendyB February 14, 2011 at 05:42 #

I heart her. She’s got such charisma.

  6. Gaber February 14, 2011 at 05:52 #

    The wig evokes Gaga.
And while the outfit isn’t something I’d normally care for, I could simply move past it if she wasn’t to short and curvy for it.

I absolutely hate the end result.

I really had to chuckle when she said the hair was all hers — she has a button that she pushes to make it grow, and another that changes the color, LOL. What a fun look!

Perfect for the grammy’s, no criticism here…..

I am kind of on the fence…Something about the look is off.Maybe, the skirt could have been a little shorter in the front?
Totally off topic ! could someone have Christina Aguilera contact me? I would love to give her a beautiful wig from our collection.I am so sick of that hair…She’s so beautiful, but that hair ! ARRRRRRGGG!!!!

  10. Linda February 14, 2011 at 06:45 #

I might like the outfit if she didn’t have that ridiculous wig on.

i have to agree with nicki minaj on this one: tisci may have presented that dress for his fall 2007 couture collection, but that dress was MADE for nicki minaj. i’m just so happy that we’ve gotten back to a time when the red carpet has become interesting and major stars have begun to take fashion risks with such great pay off.

I wonder why the told her it was designed for her? That’s quite funny. Maybe no-one has been game to wear it in public since 2007…

this is another way to ruin quite a nice couture look. god her and gaga need to bugger off and stop making fashion a joke.

  14. Marvel February 14, 2011 at 10:39 #

Im going to echo what Ethne Blist just said. I am sick to death of ‘I wanna be unique and trashy and let me wear something outrageous that will gurantee that everyone is going to be talking about me in the morning.’
Rihanna I can handle but Nicki and Gaga are too much

  15. Matt February 14, 2011 at 11:07 #

Not to me, she looks like a road kill with exceptional make up skills.

      lol :D

  16. Jones19 February 14, 2011 at 11:39 #

    Gotta love Nicki, she’s fierce.

  17. Victor February 14, 2011 at 12:41 #

She looks ridiculous, trashy, try hard…etc etc

  18. Lee Ann February 14, 2011 at 13:32 #

Where’s Grace Jones when you need her?

  19. couturecoco February 14, 2011 at 13:54 #

She’s like a cartoon to me, not quite real but hey, we need all sorts otherwise Planet Fashion would be really boring.

  20. Linda February 14, 2011 at 15:17 #

    I liked this.

  21. Alina February 14, 2011 at 15:40 #

    I don’t like it. :(

  22. Elisa February 14, 2011 at 18:52 #

She looks ridiculous. Talk about trying too hard…

  23. smolls February 14, 2011 at 19:39 #

I loved this look on TV & I’m so glad you liked it too!! It’s fun, it’s totally her but it looks fabulous! :)

Another fun artist to watch on teh red carpet – like Katy Perry.

  24. mochababe73 February 14, 2011 at 20:09 #

I like the look, but what I don’t like is Niki in it. She’s too short. Someone more statuesque should have worn it.
I kind of like the Bride of Frankenstein hair.
