Noomi Rapace In Givenchy Couture – 2011 BAFTA Awards

Joint Best Dressed Award
You know I’ve been raving about Noomi Rapace for a while now and this is why.

Girlfriend brought drama to the red carpet at the 2011 BAFTA Awards in London tonight.

Whilst some of you might think that her Givenchy Couture gown is more Grammy Awards than BATFA Awards, I think she totally rocked this dress.

It’s one thing to wear a dress, the other is to own it and Noomi does so in magnificent style. More so than the model.

Her corseted dress is totally embroidered with gold metallic sequins and crystals. She teamed her dress with gold Givenchy heels and a spiked belt.

I love that she shook things up at this event.

She was my Best Dressed.

I love that the shoes are getting the hate they deserve.
Plus not really feeling the dress itself – I do love it on the model though.

she’s way too muscly for this dress.

  8. J February 14, 2011 at 02:38 #

    The shoes ae killing me

  9. Michelle February 14, 2011 at 00:37 #

Silver chunky shoes were her choice for this look, why?

  10. mm February 14, 2011 at 00:00 #

    I love the entire look

I’m wondering if this is a bad camera angle? Her bottom half seems weirdly foreshortened…..Otherwise, I find it a thrilling dress and like Noomi’s fierce confidence.

  12. Pam February 13, 2011 at 23:32 #

Like the dress on her but think the shoes weigh her down!

  13. Luiza February 13, 2011 at 23:31 #

i love this dress, but i don’t like it on Noomi. i wish we could see this dress in someone thin – i’m not saying that she’s fat, but she has curves – like the model

She is incredible! No one outside of the fashion industry seems to have decided to try this collection (at least as far as I remember). However, there are some things that really irritate me, because they were so avoidable. For example, she sould have worn spanx, she ahs a great figure, but the derrier at the back. Also the shoes lok to sivler for my personal taste, but that could just be the photo, as wella s too clumpy for the dress. I also wish the dress were longer with a lvwer slit at eh front, it seems a little awkward, and she hadn’t worn both pinkie rings, just one. Those teeny tiny setails aside she is incredible I hoenstly though Florence Welsh was goign to be one fo the first to wear this collection.

      * I meant to specify the embellished pieces, florence has worn a non sparklypiece of the colelction.

  15. Fashion Autopsy February 13, 2011 at 23:06 #

A perfect example of a couture piece that’s best left to the professionals, i.e runway models.
This dress should have never left the showroom.

I agree with everything you said FC. I like how it shows off her rather masculine body, but in a still feminine and tough way. Love love love her. So fierce and radiant. I’m a pround swede tonight!

  17. robbie February 13, 2011 at 22:39 #

and this is how to ruin a gorgeous couture dress.

  18. Jones19 February 13, 2011 at 22:23 #

I hope it’s just the angle but I think the dress makes her look wide. Other than I think she’s owning it all the way.

  19. noo February 13, 2011 at 22:14 #

love the dress, she totally owns it 😀 her eye make up on the other hand scares me a bit :S

  20. couturecoco February 13, 2011 at 22:10 #

Oh dear no, she looks too short to carry off a stunning dress like this. And the muscular arms!

    • Gigi February 13, 2011 at 22:42 #

Couldn’t agree more. I don’t think this is a good look at all! She looks wide, hair too severe, eye makeup is frightening. Yikes. Definitely NOT BDOTW worthy in my book!

    • karen February 14, 2011 at 02:21 #

i totally agree. it looks more appropriate on a tall girl like the model

    • snowlion February 15, 2011 at 05:49 #

      Agree all of the above!

  21. Laura February 13, 2011 at 22:09 #

WOW!!! Agree BDOTW. Givenchy is rarely worn perfectly or even right on the red carpet. This is how you wear Givenchy, Ciara.

  22. A February 13, 2011 at 22:06 #

Yes! She was my BD too, alongside Julianne Moore. She and Tom Ford looked splendid together! <3

  23. Marvel February 13, 2011 at 22:05 #

Maybe its the angle or her pose but I dont like the dress on her. I think the dress would have worked better on her if it was strapless and I would liked her hair to have more ‘oomph’. Im glad its pulled back but just done more better

  24. Linda February 13, 2011 at 22:05 #

I have to disagree. It looks all right on Noomi Rapace, but it’s nothing compared to the stunning elegance of the dress on the statuesque model.

    • Alina February 14, 2011 at 17:54 #

      I agree.
I think Noomi is not tall enough to wear this dress or maybe (like Marvel says) it’s just the angle or her pose.
