Yesterday my trip to New York City started with a chauffeur driven car to London’s Heathrow airport courtesy of Virgin Atlantic.
The lounge had a 60s feel to it with the clear acrylic ‘bubble’ chairs and the chic decor.
The vast space was split into many sections to suit every traveler including a cocktail bar which greeted us with buck fizz and orange juice.
The Deli and The Brasserie served light bites.
Comfy chairs in the Poolside Lounge is a tranquil spot for escapism and for those who have to work they could use one of the many laptop points dotted around the lounge.
The Den and Multiscreen area has a pool table and large video screens for the boys to play the latest video games.
For the girls (and guys) there is also a Spa.
We were invited to try one of the treatments in the Cowshed spa.
I opted for the hot stone foot treatment which I think I will need on the way back after spending 10 days pounding the streets of Manhattan.
They also provide massages, facials and barbering.
Before our flight we had breakfast in the lounge.
James and I opted for a good old English breakfast. Charlotte had pancakes with maple syrup and Kristen who took this photo had fried eggs and toast.
The best part of this trip was the flat beds in the upper class suite cabin. As a 5ft 11in tall woman who hadn’t slept the night before, this was the perfect way stretch out, relax and catch up on some much needed sleep.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience but I will now be envious of those who turn left on the plane, as I turn right to Economy.
Before I only guessed what I was missing. Now I know.
Thank you Virgin x
