Michelle Obama gave her first live morning show interview on the Today show.
She discussed many issues with Matt Lauer including the job performance of her husband, U.S. President Barack Obama and she was also asked if the President dyes his hair.
After wowing us recently in Alexander McQueen, she surprises us again here by wearing an H&M polka-dot dress which only costs $34.95.
She added her own personal twist to this dress by having her stylist add in custom sleeves.
A wide tan belt and mustard yellow pumps completed her look.
This dress is in stores now and also comes in melon.
I bet you never thought you’d ever see the First Lady of the United States of America wearing H&M.
She looks beautiful as always.

This is how the dress looks in store without the added sleeves.

Wow! An outfit I can afford! (Because as much as I loved the Alexander McQueen, I can only dream about that)
My favorite thing is the shoes
This literally made my week! She has worn h and m before, noteably prior to becomign first lady, but I am so glad she has returned to them again! Her accessories never let her down, adn her belt in particualr is really making this for me.
Agreed. I love the pops of color. The only thing I would change is the sleeves. I much prefer cap sleeves, but its February and shes the first lady so I suppose she has limits!
I agree. She really thought about this look. Adding the sleeves was kinda try hard though.
rotflmao. Take that Oscar, DVF, Nanette et al. The FLOTUS wears what she wants. How great is it that she wore this during NY fashion week? Totally love the humor and like the dress.
Excellent comment! Love the “Oscar, DVF, Nanette” and “NY fashion week” parts in particular.
I just love her shoes. I think she needed those sleeves because she was on national TV and it’s a daytime news show. She looked beautiful as always, and what’s rare is that she seems to own all her looks rather than being a stylist’s puppet.
She looks amazing — dress, accessories, hair and makeup.
Also, adding the sleeves matures the potential “tweeness”.
OMG! LOVE LOVE LOVE! It says so much about the woman who can wear anything but chooses be frugal and fab, just like us regular girls!
She probably had to buy two to get the fabric for the sleeves :>, but still $70 isn’t bad for a dress! She is, as usual, truly fabulous!
How you can spot these things is beyond me. She looks great.
Love, love, love this look!! She looks great & it’s from H&M – totes affordable!! Love her!
I’m not 100% convinced about the shoes and belt together, but individually all the pieces look great on Michelle and I love the way she mixes high fashion and street so creatively.
LOVE her shoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love how she mixed the tan/oraqnge belt with the yellow shoes. Classy with personality. Not to mention I love the fact she’s wearing H&M like regular women have to in this difficult economic times!
You’ve just gotta love this woman. She is so comfortable in her skin and surprises us almost daily with her fashion choices.
She looks so great. I just love the fun she adds with the shoes and belts.
Who would have thought the first lady could pull off this kind of look? LOL
Love the look. But she knew she would be sitting down. I think she should have gone for a thinner belt to make the proportions better when she’s sitting down.
OH, I love this!
WOW…this woman is the BOSS!!!
i love everything about michelle’s look. it has fun bright colours, a lovely print and it’s totally appropriate and she looks amazing in it
This woman is incredible… I like the shoes and the belt, maybe I would never wear this two colors, which I usually dislike, together, but she has such an effortless style. One day they could make a book with the photos of all her outfits.
Michelle for president
Haha. She’s great.
love the popped up colours <3
Love her. Love H&M.
Man, this gal is cool! Show me another First Lady wearing yellow shoes and a High Street brand dress! I love it!
I love Mrs. Obama’s style. She looks awesome.
She looks great, but I don’t think this is exactly H&M dress, although it’s very alike
She is so authentic! And that confidence of hers is very inspiring… looking beautiful as always!
xx
This look get a fail from me. I do not like the belt with the dress and the shoes look godawful with the ensemble. Individually all the pieces look great, but together Yuck!
She looks beautiful as always. She has worn HM before.
