Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: January 2011

Best Dressed/Brand Loyal Award
On the red carpet at the 2011 SAG Awards tonight, Lea Michele wore yet another look created by her designer BFF ‘Oscar’…that’s Oscar de la Renta to the rest of us.

The ‘Glee’ actress was glowing wearing a Spring 2011 beaded blush gown.

Yes she’s totally giving off an air of “look at me, I’m fabulous”, but I totally agree.

I much prefer this look over her pink Globes gown.

This look feels more effortless.

It’s more movie star glamour than the over the top glamour she usually goes for at these events.

The star was lucky enough to walk the red carpet wearing $1 million worth of Tiffany & Co. diamond jewelry.

Best Dressed/This Is How You Wear Versace Award
This is how you own a Versace look.

Hilary Swank has been wearing Versace for years so she totally has the presence and confidence to work one of Donatella’s sexy designs on the red carpet.

You know how I always crush on Hilary, but I can say without bias that she looked stunning at the 2011 SAG Awards tonight.

Her Versace one-shoulder nude chiffon gown was accented with precious stone and crystal detailing which complemented her gold clutch.

I loved the hair. It’s not often she goes for such a voluminous poufy style, but it totally worked for her.

Most Refreshing Award
I was quite relieved when I saw that January Jones wasn’t wearing Versace on the red carpet at the 2011 SAG Awards.

I’ve always believed that most of her Versace looks have totally overwhelmed her, so this is a refreshing change.

She opted for a black and gold lace Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2011 mermaid gown which I really loved on her.

Her look has an old Hollywood vintage regal feel to it which I feel like she’s deliberately avoided giving us so we don’t compare her to ‘Betty Draper.’

On this occasion the hair works with the dress, so she gets a thumbs up from me for the first time in a very long time.

Most Dramatic Award
Mila Kunis was one of my favourites on the red carpet at the 2011 SAG Awards.

She wore an Alexander McQueen chiffon bustier dress from the Resort 2010 colleciton with a sweetheart neckline and dramatic print.

I much prefer Mila’s version as it has less black in the skirt, plus I love the clear waistband she added to her look.

The dramatic nature of the gown was soothed with beautiful tumbling waves and pink lips.

Cartier jewels completed her look.

Mila is up for the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role Award for “Black Swan.”

Most Frou Frou Award
Angie Harmon glided down the red carpet at the 2011 SAG Awards like a beautiful pink swan in LA today.

Her ultra feminine feathered Monique Lhuillier gown is very much the princess gown which every red carpet awards show needs.

Olivia Wilde did it at the Globes, so tonight was Angie’s turn.

The dress was perfect for her skin tone, and that was further complemented by dewy make-up.

She didn’t overdo the jewels as the bodice of her gown was lightly embellished.

This look may not be to everyone’s taste, but she certainly rocked it.

Best Dressed Teen/Age Appropriate Award
Hailee Steinfeld looked so young fresh and modern on the red carpet at the 2011 SAG Awards today in LA.

This awards show tends to be little bit more relaxed than the others – remember Anna Paquin in Alexander McQueen last year?

With that in mind I think her Prada Spring 2011 magenta, black and tangerine striped dress with a flounced hem was the perfect choice for her.

Long wavy hair, hot pink nails and Solange Azagury-Partridge Hot Lips ring completed her look.
