Anne Hathaway attended 20th Century Fox’s press day for “Rio” this weekend in LA.
She changed gears from what we would normally expect her to wear as she opted for a Marni Resort 2011 ensemble.
The look included a striped cropped sweater, navy polka dot pants, a statement necklace and Casadei wedges.
I’ll guess that the majority of you will hate this look, but I actually quite like it.
It’s something different from Anne. I love that it’s laid-back and perfect for the occasion.
I find it charming.

This is not one of my favourite Marni seasons but I think she looks adorable. I am glad she lost the belt and wore different shoes.
I actually like it too!it smacks a bit of her trying to be a hipster though-I think she’s channeling Alexa Chung here, really suprised Rachel Zoe would pick this out for her.
I agree. Marni is often ignored so this is a surprising pick. But I like it.
I like it too FC.
It’s a touch of spring in this never ending winter.
ruffles on the pants aside, I think this is a great look. Anne looks fantastic. So young and fresh!
I love it and prefer her shoes. Also think that it looks better without the belt.
I love Marni. Marnie doesnt get many red carpet outings. The look is perfect for LA. I love her shoe choice as well.
Omg I love it, she look young, fresh and totally fun!! I m so glad she changed things up
No, no, I do like it. That’s because I’m learning from your website.
She really seems so comfortable. I should try matching different patterns/prints, though I wouldn’t be so successful as Anne is. LOL.
lol…cute ;D
Like the pants and the shoes, dislike the jumper and the necklace. But I have to agree that’s it’s a surprising look from Anne.
I LAAVE IT! I love to see Anne stepping out her comfort gown of pretty princess dresses! So cool!
I meant to say comfort zone, not comfort gown :L
I like it too
..this is such a fresh look!
The only thing I like about this outfit are her shoes but her smile saves the day
Yes, thank you FC! I have seen other “style” sites bash this look, but I loved it. I like your eye
I know. I was shocked reading them over the weekend.
That is why I assumed you all would hate it too. Glad we are on the same page.
yes but there are style sites and then there are STYLE sites !!!!
I like it. She looks cute.
She looks great.
She wears this so well, I really loved it. She looks completely effortless.
Love, love, love
I adore this look on anne, very fresh and clean… It reminds me why I like Ms Hathaway in the first place. BRAVO
like it
Omigee! This is fantastic, I love it when she goes this casual. Her beauty is inevitable.
sorry but she looks like an extra on clarissa explains it all. i like the pants, and the shoes, actually all the pieces aren’t bad, but i seriously hate the way she’s put these pieces together. this is not the most effective styling as far as i’m concerned, and not at all event appropriate; this look would be better suited to a day of shopping with the girls. this is still a work event, and casual and cute, doesn’t have to look this sloppy.
No. Nonononono.
She somehow manages to barely pull this off because she’s a cute, good looking girl, but this is seriously ridiculous.
It looks like a homage to bad early 90′s fashion.
Also , I want to burn those pants.
I have to agree – those pants are so bad for me…..
Me no likey…I don’t hate it but I certainly don’t like it.
I like the shoes & top separately but not together & not with those pants…
Love the top. Love the shoes. Dislike the clown pants.
I am thinking of the television show Blossom and it’s main character.
I guess that I’m not fashion-y enough for this look. I love to mix patterns, but they should be in the same color scheme. The flapping ruffles and the heavy shoes are the worse of the entire look.
It’s awful, and I am not drinking the Kool-Aid.
I love it! It’s nice that she’s featured in an animation movie as it gives us a chance to see her dress down
it’s a cool outift!
It’s actually kinda kid like and charming…but I would prefer this on someone younger.
I adore Anne but there are no other words for this than HOT.MESS. Marni has always been quite hideous to me and this is no exception. Looking ‘different’ doesn’t mean you are fashionable. In fact it looks like she got dressed in the dark. There is nothing chic or stylish about this outfit. I am appalled by it to be honest.
I love the look, but not on Anne, unfortunately. I just don’t believe that it’s HER. She’s not rockin it, seems like she’s trying to be “fashiony.” One should never look styled, even when they are.
I don’t like it on the model, but love it on anne. It looks so easy and comfortable. suits the movie
Anne looked adorable and fitting for the press day of an animated film. (I think Jesse Eisenberg voiced Rio – hurray for him reaching commercial success). I can’t wait to see the film and more of Anne on the promo tour.
love it, but i would prefer flats over the heels for this look
ugly!
Love it too! I think it’s a difficult look to pull off but she looks great here.
I love it! It’s fresh and Anne looks adorable.
seriously, i think the outfit’s darling, i just think it’s inappropriate for an official-ish function. if we caught her at a cafe in nolita, perhaps this would great, but this is too fashion-y/runway-y for mass consumption.
Even if I didn’t like the collection when I first saw, I still think that some piece are ridiculous, I like this look, she’s so fresh, the pants are cute.
Hell no.
The shoes are bad, the pants sit awkward (on top of being ugly as hell) and I would have preferred that top on someone with much smaller boobs.
The model is bringing so much more out of this look – but even on her it’s quite poor.
im not sure about the bare midriff seems a little too 80s for my liking, but i do love the rest of the look especially her wedges.
Really like the trousers but dislike to overall look
i love it..love the casual vibe…
excellent choice of shoes….ooohhh i so want to wear all of the above pieces…
