I had to go with Rose McGowan in Juan Carlos Obando for wearing an interesting shape with a bold pattern made by a designer who isn’t seen a lot on the RC. Rose has been rocking some good looks lately.
I agree. Leighton’s look isn’t anything special. Plus she wins sometimes and Sofia’s look is just chic, so is Heidis. I don’t see why they are on this poll. Same with Caroline Seiber.
Me too! She’s the one my eye was immediately drawn to. The colour and shape of the dress combined with her hair and earrings and shoes are a wonderful combination. She looks fabulous!
I may have chosen Leighton’s dress, had I not seen Li Ai in her Gucci dress 2 weeks ago, and if it were in a different color. And I love both of Diane’s looks in the pool, but ever since I saw that picture of Jessica Alba, I can’t get it out of my head. In one dress, she managed to ooze grace, class, elegance, glamour and sex appeal. She looks absolutely stunning.
I totally agree, Matt. The colour of Jessica’s dress is also fabulous.
FC – you must be getting excited about the Oscars, no? Can’t wait for your coverage already!
yes…very excited. The SAGs are on Sunday
it’s very hard to choose because this week is very weak.. hope next week will be better.. actually can’t wait for the oscars..
Jessica,Thandie,Kate and Diane look amazing.at the beginning of the week I thought Leighton looked amazing but to me she doesn’t the out as much as the others I mentioned now.
Diane really had amazing week, her giambassti valli dress was on of my faves aswell but she is already represented twice I guess it can’t be a Diane Kruger bdotw:)
A lot of these women look beautiful and well put together (some are not my cup of tea), but Leighton Meester completely knocks it out of the ballpark – no competition… jaw droppingly gorgeous look from her – wow!
Wow…what a dissapoingting week. Out of all of them, I dont see any that have the ‘Wow’ factor like other weeks. No incredible gowns or anything…hopefully the ladies are saving their best for the SAG awards this weekend!
I think there are lots of contenders, gowns send me to sleep…
Disappointed that Olivia Wilde didn’t make it though!
There were lots of great dresses, but none blew me away like other weeks.
Lots of great looks this week. Jessica, Leighton, Diane and Rose all stole my heart. In the end I gave it to Diane in Chanel, so beautiful.
Oh yeah why isn’t Olivia Wilde in this poll? Did people not like her look? It was one of my faves this week.
Leighton Meester, for her minimalism perfection!!! Also, she looks likes she’s loving it, right?
Amazing choice of contenders! I couldn’t agree more with your selection! Good job, as it was also a tough week!
I’m torn between Leighton and Jessica. I guess I’ll leave it till Sunday! Have a good weekend FC!
ps- and now I’ll just start browsing pics from Paris Couture Week
I think Leighton Meester is a step forwards this week. She must win, for me, she’s beautiful head to toe.
really guys? i think this week’s poll is BOMB!! i voted for leighton, she created a jawdropping moment there. but it was really a lot of amazing looks this week!!
I agree..many options here
Oh yeh, out of ten looks there are eight that I love, my only problem is more how to pick my favorite!
Toss-up between Thandie and (oddly enough) Kate. But I voted for Thandie.
I voted for Diane in Gucci – loved it. Liked Kate and Jessica Alba’s looks this week as well.
Wasn’t too impressed with Thandie or Caroline at all.
Vote will go to the always stunning Thandie Newton!
my vote is for diane in chanel, although her giambattista valli was my real favorite.
Yes, definitely, the cat-like eyes caught me!
Voted for Thandie, but I would have liked to have seen Abbie Cornish in Elie Saab in the poll.
It’s getting a bit predictable, leighton wins almost every poll she’s in! I love Gossip Girl as much as the next girl, but come on… Soooo hard to choose between the two Diane looks, almost left it to eeny meeny miny mo! Chose the Chanel look in the end, cos she made it look so much better than the model, a rare feat..
Diane, Diane! This was a tough week, as there were so many amazing looks from Thandie’s effortless cool to Leighton’s sleekness to Jessica’s modern glam. However, Diane in Chanel wins for me because it’s elegance at it’s best – very event appropriate and current. I love how the geometry of the dress frames her collarbones and legs, and black accessories actually work so well here! FC – thanks for running such an amazing site. This is my first comment post
my pleasure….i’ll look forward to reading more comments from you
x
Am I the only one who really dislikes Leighton’s look? I didn’t think it was anything special when I first saw it, but now upon seeing it again, I actually have moved to disliking it. I don’t like the shine on the bodice (leather?), I don’t like the cut of the neckline and arms, I really don’t like the cutouts. It strikes me as dated and boring and not that flattering…of course, my vote went to Rose McGowan, and she only got 3 percent of the votes, so I guess I’m not part of the majority this week.
Alba ftw!!! Meester from the neck up is uber fail.
Another amazing week, I really really hope the last few weeks have been the calm before the oscars storm. I had to vote for diane in that gorgeous chanel look, it is so completely adn outrageaously gorgeous a dress, adn she is so compeltely outrageous stunning a woman, there were no faults IMO. I have to say this may have been the first time in a while i have considered not voting for leighton, only out of love of diane. I hoep you had a great couture week FC, I am so envious that you got to go to paris! I miss it there so much. Have a lovely weekend, and I really look forward to next week of more fabulous posts – it is always such a pleasure to visit such an incredible lovely and interesting site!
I was a lot of fun.
Another week with Meester in the mix. Shocking. I don’t get what is so special about this dress or look. I find the cutouts quite trashy and her and makeup do her no favors. Kruger however looks perfect in both of her looks. The Chanel is especially delightful. Persoanlly I am sick of LM winning these polls unfairly. I pray for the week she actually skips an event. She is the epitomy of overexposed not to mention totally overhyped.
I voted for Caroline Sieber because of her ability to combine two different pieces from LV and make them look beautiful
I don’t get why Diane Kruger’s wearing Giambattista Valli isn’t among the above.
It took me about ten minutes to decided between Kate Bosworth, Leighton Meester and Jessica Alba. But I chose Jessica because her dress looks so so beautiful on her and the dress itself is so breathtaking. Kate would have probably been next. Mainly because the dress is something I don’t think any other celebrity could pull off.
Can’t get over the comments about this week about it being a poor Week, Diane, Jessica, leighton proved it to b anything but… I Did say at the
Start the week that it would b hard4anyone2beat leighton. Outstanding and my bdotw
most people tend to vote for gowns as jaw dropping moments — and i won’t disagree, gowns are made to wow you, but i think there are a lot of really gorgeous, shorter length and more casual looks here.
I thought it was a good week, but I somehow feel underwhelmed by all of the looks. So I am saving my vote, but I have to say, I wish Diane would win, because she’s had the most impressive week ever! All her looks together make my jaw drop, but each one by itself just doesn’t do that for me.
P.S.: is it just me, or Caroline Sieber’s Louis Vuitton look is similar to Marc Jacobs dress Leighton Meester wore to Country Strong premiere?
I don’t usually vote, but this week I just had to. Jessica Alba in Gucci just blew me away – I know she can look good but it has been a while since she has wowed me like this!
Good week but i didn t have a hard time picking a winner. I’m not even a big Diane Kruger fan but this week she’s been spot on. Her Gucci outfit gets my vote. Perfect 10. Plus those bags behind her really add to the picture. Have a great week end!
i like a lot off the looks, but JA gets my vote, she looks stuning
FC this poll is doing no justice to Diane Kruger
all her looked looked fabulous and not many votes. I wish you chosse her as this weeks favorite
I agree, but it seems people loved Leighton
Leighton killed that Michael Kors, I mean, she murdered it. But she doesn’t need my vote lol.
Besides, it’s not often that I’m impressed by Diane’s style. But she had such a strong week and she looked exquisite in that light pink Chanel dress so I went with her.
Both of Diane Kruger’s looks are absolutely stunning! Her Gucci dress is edgy, interesting, and very unique, and her beautiful Chanel Haute Couture dress follows the classic Chanel aesthetic. Two completely different looks, but two similar results! Despite how impressive Diane’s week was, I voted for Jessica Alba in Gucci…Simply stunning!
Also don’t understand why Leighton Meester’s look is so popular…Diane and Jessica were much better, whereas Leighton’s look fails to excite me at all and I strongly dislik her hair!
I had to pick Diane in Gucci in the end, but it was hard to choose……It’s fun to have beautiful gowns to look at and be seduced by, but I also really appreciate a week like this where there is a luscious variety of less dramatic but still very interesting and even challenging looks – from Diane to Thadie to Jessica to Rose McGowan and so on. A visually strong week for me!
P.S. I also pretty much love everything in Fashion Critic’s Favorites this week…..
Me too. If only we had the money
Well, I might try for that Jil Sander bag, and then dream on about having the McQueen……
I’m torn between Jessica Alba and Diane Kruger in Chanel.
