Zooey Deschanel In Marc Jacobs – “My Idiot Brother” 2011 Sundance Film Festival Premiere

Zooey Deschanel attended the premiere of “My Idiot Brother” this weekend during the 2011 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

As a fan of all things kooky and cute, Zooey wore a Marc Jacobs Resort 2011 purple dress.

Her silk short sleeve dress with v-front, pleated bodice and tiered skirt has been modified from the dress presented.

Anna Kendrick also wore a cap sleeved version of this dress last year.

Zooey wouldn’t be Zooey without a pair of tights to complete her look. On this occasion she opted for navy.

Her look was completed with a half up, half down hair do, and H&M Spring 2011 two-tone heels with a gold heel which I saw at the H&M Spring 2011 press day.

The dress makes her look bulky…I don’t like it on her.

I would have been sold on this outfit if the shoes were different.

Seems like FC you’ve given up on picking on the whole zooey/tights relationship:)

I think the dress makes her look pregnant.

I like the runway sihouette better.

For someone who likes quirky, I am surprised that she didn’t wear the runway version. It’s prettier and doesn’t look cheap.

I LOVE the runway version, why wont someone just wear it the way it is 🙁

  8. Linda January 24, 2011 at 22:11 #

I think she looks great, shoes, tights and all. She makes it work.

  9. Roxanne January 24, 2011 at 21:22 #

Agreed! The proportions don’t work, and why did she switch up such a fun fabric for the crinkled up purple satin?

the shoes ruin an otherwise cute look

Zooey’s is a bit blah. She would have looked great in a shorter version of the polka dot runway dress. I’m suprised FC that you didnt call her out for those shoes!

    • Fashion Critic January 24, 2011 at 21:41 #

I actually really like the shoes 🙂

I want a pair for myself.

GTFOH!! lol they dont seem like the type of shoes you would like – they seem so “beige”. 2012 is nigh….

This whole outfit is a mess. She should have worn the runway version.

    • niya January 24, 2011 at 23:44 #

      couldn’t agree more!

I’ve said it then (when Anna wore it) and I’ll say it again:
This modification does not work. 3 layers is too much for a dress this short.
The dress looks absolutely stunning on the model, but the short version looks like a maternity dress.

I second that and add that I don’t like her shoe choice

I love this. Her style is so fun. She pulls this off perfectly, i wish that she wore different shoes, but i cant complain.

  15. mol January 24, 2011 at 20:33 #

I think this suits her style and I like it!

  16. Marvel January 24, 2011 at 20:14 #

FC, I called it. On Anna Kendrick’s page my comment said that Zooey would be perfect for this dress and she is 🙂

      totally…good job x

It is hard to critique someone who has a specific sense of style, but I don’t think the shoes work.
