In case you hadn’t noticed I’ve developed a huge girl crush on Leighton Meester over the past couple of months.
She commands my attention on the red carpet by taking ownership of everything she wears. She mixes things up and always looks flawless.
Last night she attended the LA Premiere of her latest movie, “The Roommate” looking sensational wearing a Michael Kors long dress from the Pre-Fall 2011 collection.
Her black chiffon jersey dress with a leather cut out bodice looks super hot on Leighton without being overtly sexy.
She’s working it way better than the model.
With her super sleek straight ombre hair and Brian Atwood ‘Helena’ pumps, Leighton opted to go sans jewelry.
We have our first BDOTW contender.

minimal glam! she is unbelievable. i really cannot think of someone more daring on the red carpet than leighton meester at this point. every dress she wears is so refreshing and risky. i hope she continues the good choices..because we all know she likes too go a little bit “edgy”sometimes…and the results are nor pleasant. love this new direction and leighton’s boldness is starting to pay off!
Love this look, black doesn’t have to be boring and predictable on the red carpet. The waist detail is so on trend for SS11 and the leather bust detail reflects just enough light to lift the colour !! Gorgeous x

She definitely rocks it way better than the model whose boob area just looks super awkward.
But the things I love the most are the straight hair (she rarely has it this way which is a shame because it’s better than the soft curls on her imo) and the make up.

I love Leighton Meester, which is evident by how i write lon gugshing essays almost everytime she goes onto the red carpet, but this is beyond. She knows how to wear a dress, and not try too hard, or give too much, but pull it off to perfection, and as you said, command attention. I love simple dresses when they ar done right. She is easily my star to watch this year, and this has to be one of, if not my actual favourite dress of the year so far.
I agree with you- it looks totally flat and lifeless on the model (or at least that picture) but it has a lot of zing on her.

I’m not a fan of cut outs at all, but this I LOVE. Sexy without being garish or tacky. She looks stunning. Probably the first look – whole look – that stands out for me in 2011.

I am not a fan of Leighton’s style, but she looks good in this dress. However, most women look good in Michael Kors. He is my favorite designer.
I think what really made this dress is that she kept everything simpe, didn’t try too hard, and has stick straight hair.
