Vintage Inspired Award
Michelle Williams graced 2011 Critics’ Choice Awards red carpet wearing a vintage-inspired Balenciaga gown.
Her floor length gown with a rise and fall hem and embroidered floral details was utterly sophisticated.
This is one of my favourite looks from Michelle in a very long while.
Ferragamo satin pumps and Neil Lane jewelery complemented her look.

Absolutely perfect. Thank goodness she kept with the feel of the gown and didn’t toughen up the shoes or wear a pop of colour. Elegant and restrained.
I don’t know. I’m not a fan of bi-level hems on the bottom. And the silhouette looks like Balenciaga designed it for one of the tons of celebrities who are expecting this awards season. I’d prefer a tighter silhouette.
I do like the jewel detail and the vintage feel to the look.

She ALWAYS gets it right. I absolutely adore this. FC, I agree, favorite look from her in a while.
Absolutely gorgeous! I love this look on her.
This ages her because of the 50′s neckline. I wish it was scoopneck.
Agreed.
I told myself I would scream if she showed up in another black or white dress, but I just can’t not like this. She looks absolutely gorgeous. Though I do hope she wears something with color on Sunday.
I like it, but at the same time I don’t.
She does this look a lot.
The “boat-neck,” vintage, embroidered dresses.
I want to see her do something new.
Wear something young and sexy.
Wonderful!
YES! ABSOLUTELY beautiful! Love her right now!
Boring again.
An Interesting choice, but everything just seems to hang off her – there’s never any animation in her pose, I’ve noticed that her arms always just hang there at her sides, Natalie Portman does this too but she often hides it with the way she holds her bag, Carey Mulligan does it too. It’s as if theses actresses are actively resisting the idea of posing for a Red Carpet camera shot, like it’s too phoney for them and so they refuse to act out a little bit and give their very expensive wonderful clothes a chance to look good – too bad!
This is exactly what I was looking for, given my last rant abotu how predictabel she was. I absolutely adore this dress, I do not get how monsieur ghesquiere designs things as beautiful as this, and also thsoe wierd punky ss 2011 clothes. Stunning!
I totally agree. I don’t like anything he’s put out on the runway in a long while
The vintage collections is influenced by the archives so he really doesn’t design them rather his team adapts them
I do not like how her chest looks, as if the fit is too tight. beautiful otherwise.
After Elle’s look, this was probably one of my favorite looks. Michelle looks so elegant.
I ADORE this look from Michelle, even though it still looks “typical” of her. No one can tell me vintage isn’t making a comeback in a small way.

A odd look from her. It kind of reminds me of Carey’s prada at the oscars, in it not being a Full Mullet dress but shows off the shoes.
Not something I would wear but she makes it work for what it is
this look has a audrey hepburn vibe!
best vintage inspired for sure!
Even though I’m a little tired of her wearing white, I love this dress. She looks great in it and the vintage vibe suits her really well.
I like it but she can do better.
Hasn’t she worn this dress a million times before?
I feel the same way but I do appreciate how beautiful she looks here.
Elegant, demure and classic, this is a perfect look for Michelle. It’s not revolutionary, it’s not something super-fresh but Michelle, like Carey Mulligan, knows what suits her and she runs with it. Gorgeous.
Just the top half bothers me, across the chest looks too tight…
