Eva Mendes In Valentino Couture – 2011 Critics’ Choice Awards

Best Dressed Award
Eva Mendes looked stunning when she stepped onto the carpet at the 2011 Critics’ Choice Awards.

She was easily my favourite on the night.

Just when she was starting to become a little bit predictable, the actress switches things up wearing a Valentino Fall 2009 Couture dress.

Her black organza lace couture dress with a nude lining is deceptively sheer.

I loved the oversize bow on the shoulder which didn’t overwhelm her.

She kept her hair simple so it didn’t complete with the bow and allowed her dress to stand out.

Brian Atwood ‘Wagner’ nude pumps and dazzling earrings completed her look.

I’ve been waiting for this – beautiful and exciting……only the shoes disappoint, but in a minor way.

She looks great and it’s true that she works that bow well, but it’s just a bit too much. Look at the size of that thing. I find it hard to get over it.

Hmmm, disagree with this. I think it looks a bit awkward, and is very underwhelming for me. Is she going to the globes? I’d love to see more glam from her tomorrow night if she is.

Me too. But then, I rarely can get on board with her style.

IMO this is the way for her to do ‘I’m not sexy’, or however FC labelled it. Just much les try hard hthan logn shapeless dresses. I really love this look on her. Perfection, probably courtesy of Rachel Zoe.

I am usually hating her for never wearing any color, but this is amazing! Im so in love with the lace and the giant bow. I think most people would get lost in this but she totally works it. Im not in love with the shoes but at least they arent black!

I think the bow overwhelms her and I dont think she has the certain finesse to pull this look.

      I agree. I don’t like it.

  9. Lee Ann January 15, 2011 at 21:56 #

I almost love it but that bow is absolutely ridiculous

    Wow.

Lovely, however, don’t really love the bow.

I don’t quite get this look.

Such a fan. Love it. Nice to see a celebrity wearing Valentino couture on the red carpet and looking like a WOMAN in it, rather than a little girl or a woman trying to dress like a little girl (which is not to say that I haven’t liked Jessica Alba, Elle Fanning and co. in Valentino BTW). Well done Eva. Welcome back!

I love it. Only Eva Mendes could pull this off and look stunningly sexy while doing so.
