Li Ai In Gucci – Cosmo Women Of The Year Awards

Chinese model and host Li Ai glided down the red carpet at the Cosmo Women Of The Year Awards which was held at the Park Hyatt Beijing, China this week.

The stunning model looks about 7ft tall in her slinky Gucci Pre-Fall 2010 long sleeve dress.

She totally works the backless gown which has a silver metal accent and sexy cut-out details.

Li Ai styled her look with a silver clutch and matching bracelets.

Definitely a BDOTW contender.

I feel like we have seen variations of this dress so many times before, there’s some Cavalli that comes to mind, Versace, even Gucci. Feels uninspired to me.

  3. Saara January 14, 2011 at 12:23 #

    Wow! BDOTW definitely!

I have a deja vu feeling about this look (thinking Paz Vega at the Rome Film Festival), but she totally knocked it out!! Stunning!!

  8. Alina January 14, 2011 at 13:02 #

SO Best Dressed of the Week contender. Sexy and polished – love it. Is this dress from the same collection as Rose Byrne’s Gucci dress at last year’s Emmys? Her’s had a very similar cut-out and metal detailing as well. Li Ai goes to show that classic and sleek beats overblown and tricky any day of the week.

I think what’s refreshing about this look is that she’s smiling and radiant rather than desperate and pouty (J.Lo, take notes!!). BDOTW contender definitely.

  11. D January 14, 2011 at 13:39 #

    amazing =)

  12. CASS January 14, 2011 at 13:40 #

Although it is black it is so nice to see long and sleeved instead of the samo samo strapless, short -waist shiny minis that every starlet wears. Stunning. Why are Asian women so stylish?

    • Fashion Critic January 14, 2011 at 14:05 #

I think it’s in their DNA

    • Hannah January 14, 2011 at 20:22 #

You literally took the exact words out of my mouth! They are so beautiful they don’t need ot try sahrd is my answer. Where else would you see anyone so subtlely and non desperately working a dress to this high a standard?

    • pipsqueak January 16, 2011 at 04:06 #

I’ve commented on women in Asia before, which caused some misunderstanding and unneccessary debate on this blog, so I’m going to redeem myself this time :) I think the beauty in many Asian women that we see here comes from their (healthy) pursuit of perfection, poise and an appreciation for quiet sexiness. Li Ai is the perfect example. I think she looks even better than the model in the Gucci show. And because a lot of readers here are intelligent women (I assume), we particularly respond to this kind of beauty.

OMG..so HOT ..all the Asian red carpet events usually are FANTASTICAL !

Long sleeved gowns with cutouts don’t always work as Kristen Bell proved when she wore Monique Lhuillier to the When In Rome premiere. But given, Li Ai’s height and the way she carries her self, this look is stunning. I can’t think of many people who could pull off this look better.

    • KateS January 15, 2011 at 09:27 #

I agree with every part of Laura’s comment.

  16. anna January 14, 2011 at 14:52 #

I don’t see how anyone can really compete with her for BDOTW!

  17. mm January 14, 2011 at 14:55 #

  18. mol January 14, 2011 at 15:20 #

Love the long lean silhouette this creates on Li Ai, and she’s perfectly accessorized – she looks better than the model.

  19. dee January 14, 2011 at 15:56 #

    She looks incredible.

  20. Lils January 14, 2011 at 16:09 #

So elegant and sexy! I love how her clutch complements the silver band on her dress. Her hair is beautiful and that smile is what we need more on the red carpet. BDOTW

  21. Gaber January 14, 2011 at 16:30 #

  22. Meg January 14, 2011 at 16:58 #

    she looks ridiculously good
i cant imagine what could take my vote for bdotw after this

    • Hannah January 14, 2011 at 20:24 #

When I googled her height, if I got the right person, she is apparently 5’10. She does look sickeningly goodshe is (again given I googled right person) a model after all!

      • Fashion Critic January 14, 2011 at 20:42 #

        She looks taller :)
