New kid on the block, Jennifer Lawrence attended the 2011 National Board of Review of Motion Pictures Gala in New York City last night.
After rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival for ‘Winter’s Bone’ and a possible Oscar nomination all eyes are on Jennifer.
For a relative newbie she’s been wearing a lot of top name designers.
At this event she wore a Proenza Schouler mesh and lace bustier dress.
As much as I like the dress, I’m dying for a pop of colour as her look feels very one tone from her dress down to her nude Jimmy Choo ‘Lance’ sandals.
I also wish she’d smoothed down her skirt for this photo.
Chopard jewels completed her look.

My main problem with this look is honestly just that I miss her hair colour from the movie. I preferred her as a darker blonde.
I this is pretty chic.
Boring… She desperately needs a pop of color and an iron.
I still really like it. I love colour, but I stil really love this dress. Call me old fashioned, but I love the fact both her dresses have been to her knee. She is only 20 and I think that takes real courage, in a world where everyone wears miniskirts regardless of their age. I am genuinly excited for awards seasons for her, because her first two looks have been stunning.
Yep pull down the skirt and yank up the top. I do like the look but she looks so washed out and she has a bit of the LiLo vacant stare going on…hope that’s just becauses she’s still new to all this.
You took those words right out of my mouth.
I thought that but she was smiling on her last appearance, must be the photo.
I don’t like this look. It is meh. The shoes age this look for her. NOT BDOTW.
I’m going to be honest and keep it short and simple, i hate the dress and i hate the color.
She should choose younger designs.
the dress is cute just wish she did something different with her hair, and the shoes! i never thought i would hear myself say this but i wish the “lance” addiction would just die now, it is making me lose love for those shoes.
It’s pretty but not great- it’s a bit washed out and the presentation overall isn’t very polished. Still, she’s very new to all this and I think there’s real potential for her RC appearances when she finds her feet.
This look is just sad. There needs to be something to jazz it up-a beautiful clutch, some jazzier footwear, a different ‘do, some jewelry, glam make-up. This just looks, well, sad…
Yeah, a pop of color would be better. I’m not crazy about the bottom half of the dress. Slightly hinges on curtain. It’s as though she was the oldest daughter in Sound of Music and Julie Andrews’s Maria made her dress out of the curtains in the bedroom.
It is boring and a blame her. I feel like someone else could have really rocked this dress. Victoria Beckham, Blake Lively, JLo, Reese Witherspoon, Cameron Diaz…
The top and dress seem too tight. Maybe she should have went up a size.
i think she looks fantastic, especially for a newcomer. if there’s room…possibly consideration for bdotw?
