Should’ve Worn The Runway Colour Award
When I saw Emma Roberts on the red carpet at the 2011 People’s Choice Awards, I wondered if she has been taking style tips from her Aunt Julia Roberts who loves black.
It makes me wonder because why would someone so young and cute opt out of wearing this Christian Dior Spring 2011 dress in purple?
Granted the black ruffled version has an air sophistication which befits the young actress, but her look would’ve been more fun in purple with a contrasting belt.

Cant agree more. She should go with purple one rather than the safe Black. It would be more fun.
The black is meh. She isn’t a black queen like Angelina Jolie or Julia Roberts, so this is strange. The pruple wouldn’t be offensive on her.

Purple is one of my fav colors but some girls don’t like purple. I wish she would have added some interesting accessories to the outfit because that Dior dress is looking a little bargain basement on her.

Totally agree. She also could have worn the orange belt with her black dress, or the purple dress with a black belt… People who get the chance to wear this expensive dresses should make a bit of fun with it!
Totally should of worn the original version with the orange belt as well, would of been tons more fun just like the peoples choice awards are supposed to be. The black washes he out as well dont you think?

i don’t think the black is so bad? the dress is already kinda flirty and fun with the ruffles and sheer layers… the purple would have been more fun but i still think its a cute dress in black.
I agree that it would’ve been better in purple. But if she’d insisted on the black, I would’ve liked to see a nice statement necklace to jazz the look up a bit.
I am not a big fan of the color purple, but I agree that she should have worn that version. You miss out on the details of the dress when it’s this dark color.
Not only that, her dress looks like a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen.
Taylor Swift would have worn the purple.
I like the purple better, but she could have improved this look with the black dress if she’d done something to counteract how it washes her out. Tweak the makeup, perhaps.
