Beyonce and Solange Knowles arrived on the red carpet for the grand opening of Marquee Nightclub at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas last week.
Solange sported a cropped or afro ‘do for most of 2010, but she starts 2011 long braids.
Beyonce sticks to the same old, same old blonde ‘do wearing an Alexander McQueen Spring 2011 dress.
Her Folklore floral organza print dress is an interesting mix of two looks from the runway.
I like how she paired her modified dress with a black leather belt.
I can well imagine that Bey wore black pumps, which I think may have worked perfectly well with this look.
Beyonce becomes the second person after Noomi Rapace to wear a look from Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2011 collection.
Hopefully we’ll see more stars (Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton, Anna Paquin) wearing this collection in 2011.

Beyonce looks amazing! Love the modifications. But I cannot WAIT until Cate Blanchett and Tilda Swinton grace us with an Alexander McQueen dress. Hopefully one if them wears one next, and not Salma Hayek (just because she can.. although I would!)
I can’t stand Salma Hayek in anything but Gucci Premeir. I’ve become a snob about that. Busts away in Alexander McQueen!
Okay: Beyonce has either add glitter or trash to a look and here she is not selling it to me- neither is her sister with those inappropriate braids. That hair does NOT work with anything Alexander McQueen.
Total. Agreement. I’m loathe to start the year on a negative note but this McQueen look was one of my favourites on the runway last year and Beyonce has all but trashed it. The looks are so graceful and ethereal on the runway yet on Beyonce it all looks so tacky, tacky, tacky. A crying shame.
Whoa this does not work on her. It could be the groomed eyebrows and gloosy lipstick that says Vegas whilst the dress with the belt looks like a Star Wars costume. Sorry to be negative especially on my second posting but Beyonce is not edgy enough for McQueen..

Anyway Beyonce’s pose is very awkward but I’m impressed with the dress. Not a fan of Solange’s braids (at least not to that length) but otherwise I love her look.

I love Beyonce in this dress, but the hair leaves alot to be desired.
Solange needs to stop trying so hard to be the opposite of Beyonce. It’s getting to be a little ridiculous and just a tad comical. I wonder how many bags of hair did it take to make those braids.
The dress is gorgeous. The girl is gorgeous. But why is this look not working? It does not suit her, and her hair & make- up look awful.
Beyonce is not the right person for this dress… She looks fatter.
I don’t like either one of their looks.
Beyonce looks so beautiful in this dress, I’m not really liking Solange’s hair though…it’s a mess.
