Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: December 2010

Rachel Bilson looked adorable when she walked the red carpet at Spike TV’s “2010 Video Game Awards” in LA this weekend.

For once I can say I love this look from hair-to-toe.

Rachel’s usual messy tresses have been smoothed out with a few gentle waves at the tips.

Her Christian Dior Spring 2010 baby blue ruffled dress has been modified from the runway as her version has a cream lining.

I’m not usually a fan of all modificated looks, but I really love Rachel version. It’s sexy without being too obvious and revealing.

Nude pumps haters look away now because Rachel paired her dress with nude Brian Atwood “Donna” heels.

Selena Gomez is lucky she arrived at the 2010 Hollywood Style Awards and not the 2010 Make-Up Awards, because they would’ve chased her out of the venue.

The young singer/actress fell foul to the visible “white make-up powder” under the eye trend which first showed up on Nicole Kidman’s face.

I’m still shocked that this keeps happening on the red carpet, as it’s such an embarrassing error.

It wasn’t only her make-up I didn’t like, I wasn’t too fond of her Max Azria Atelier dress either as it looked like something Ariel from the ‘Little Mermaid’ would wear.

British actress Carey Mulligan was in Dubai this weekend to attend the Opening Night Gala of ‘The King’s Speech’ during day one of the 7th Annual Dubai Film Festival held at the Madinat Jumeriah Complex.

She opted to wear an Erdem ‘Lila’ dress with a ‘Daphnis’ print from the Resort 2011 collection.

This dress which reminded me of the Christopher Kane Resort 2011 dress she wore to the 2010 Toronto Film Festival “Never Let Me Go” Premiere.

I’m surprised she would wear dresses that are so similar.

Carey’s crop seems to have grown out quite quickly because she was able to sport an updo for this event.

You’ll also notice that Carey’s hair colour is now pretty much the same platinum blonde colour as Michelle Williams.

British actress Emily Blunt joined in the fun at the 2010 Hollywood Style Awards which took place at the Hammer Museum in Westwood, California this weekend.

She opted to wear a dress by British based designer, Roksanda Ilincic.

The LBD with a twist has structured cap sleeves, shiny polka dot details and is decorated with black ribbon bows around the neckline.

Her all black look continued with a black woven clutch and black ribbon sandals.

I love the structure and details of this look. It works perfectly, but as always I crave a pop of colour.

It feels so strange to have a “Girl Crush” on a teen actress, but I’m loving Elle Fanning’s style at the moment.

She’s gone from cutesy princesses’ dresses, to adorable Marc Jacob dresses, to Valentino Couture, to edgy Rodarte in a very short space of time.

With each look she’s not trying to be anyone she’s not, and she’s not trying to look older than her 12 years.

I love her how angelic Elle manages to look in her Rodarte tan suede and gold leather embossed dress.

I wouldn’t advise stars to steer too far away from the Rodarte runway styling, so I’m not surprised to see Elle stick to the same white see-through socks, and Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte metallic gold embossed wedge heels which we saw on the runway.

I’m sure like me you’ve been impatiently waiting for our first glimpse of the Jil Sander Spring 2011 collection on the red carpet, and that came courtesy of Kate Bosworth this weekend.

“The Warrior’s Way” actress proved how fashion savvy she is by donning the Jil Sander ensemble which incorporates a white tee shirt with a pastel mint voluminous skirt at the 2010 Hollywood Style Awards.

She took some inspiration from the runway to wear her hair pulled back and she also added a touch of pink lippie like the model.

My wish list for this collection were all statuesque girls like Tilda Swinton, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Liv Tyler, Lily Cole, and Katie Holmes, but Kate does pull off this look remarkably well.
