WOW, this proves that FC’s readers also have a very good taste. I agree on every numbers, except Leighton’s Marc Jacob piece. Remember the Marc Jacobs’ yellow and pink mini dress she wore? I think that one is WAY more deserve to be in this list. But I’m still glad that we had a fabulous year with so many fabulous ladies.

Merry Christmas, FC and everyone else.

    • Fashion Critic December 24, 2010 at 06:50 #

      Merry Christmas

I love this list too xxx

  2. Rita December 24, 2010 at 05:52 #

ah Cate deserves the first place! But I have to say that I’m not loving the fact that Emma is the 4th one, the dress is really not that interesting. Great list! Can’t wait yours!

  3. Ariel December 24, 2010 at 05:44 #

There were far better looks this year than Leighton Meester in Marc Jacobs & Emma Watson in Rafael Lopez. I’m glad to see Cate & Gwyneth on this list. Absolutely stunning.

  4. Fraser December 24, 2010 at 05:02 #

I was too slow to vote alas – however 4 of my votes made the top ten: Rachel (who doesn’t seem to be a popular vote – think she looks divine the dressed moved so well), Emma, Gwyneth and Fan.

I would have also added Natalie Portman in Rodarte, and Dannii Minogue in J’Aton Couture (who have to be the hottest boys in fashion!)

Thanks for compiling, FC, and looking forward to your list!

    x

  5. rebecca December 24, 2010 at 04:11 #

So glad that Zoe got number two. Can’t believe that Leighton, Emma and Rachel got so high, though.

Happy holidays FC and thanks for all the hard work you do on this site.

    • Fashion Critic December 24, 2010 at 06:51 #

      Kisses. You’re welcome x

  6. msd December 24, 2010 at 03:32 #

Doh, forgot to vote! But Cate and Fan Fan are in there so I’m happy. 1,5, 6 and 10 are my faves. 9 is a complete mystery to me and 4 is cute but a bit casual.

Thanks for all your hard work this year FC. It’s much appreciated by your readers.

    • Fashion Critic December 24, 2010 at 06:52 #

Thanks for all your comments, they true keep me inspired

  7. mm December 24, 2010 at 03:29 #

I can agree with the top ten here!

FC your year end list have been wonderful, very creative and a joy to read. That is why this blog is my #1

    • Fashion Critic December 24, 2010 at 06:54 #

I very happy to heat that.

      More to come today.

Looking forwards to the break…traveling home today…then back refreshed for awards season.

      Happy holidays xxx

  8. P. December 24, 2010 at 02:58 #

OMG, when I saw the BDOTY Reader’s Choice list I almost cried. But in a BAD, BAD way. Sorry, but I really dont get this fascination that all people have with Cate Blanchett. And of course she shouldn’t be on the first place, nor on this list. And #9 Leighton Meester, wearing that awful Marc Jacobs crochet dress, I really dislike the dress , and looks even more terrible on her.

BTW, many stylish celebrities should have been on this list, like Blake in Marchesa at the MET ,Camilla Belle in Carolina Herrera (LATIN GRAMMY), Dianna Agron in Carolina Herrera (Emmy), ……
I don’t know,I think people prefer the person instead of preferring the clothing itself. Come on guys, be neutral!

    Happy Holidays XXX

  9. Miss Jeanett December 24, 2010 at 01:06 #

I dont’ get no 2 and 3. No. 2 should be on the Worst Dressed list in my opinion. No. 3 was just slutty couture in a bad way (and on the wrong girl!).

But Cate deserved no. 1 even though I voted for Diane in Jason Wu. I’m glad that made it to the list!

  10. asherlev1 December 24, 2010 at 00:56 #

I have really mixed feelings about some of these, but I adored #1,2 and 7 so I’m glad to see ’em there.

  11. Linda December 23, 2010 at 23:43 #

    Eeek…the only gowns I like are 1, 6, 7 and 10. I dislike 3 and 4 and I REALLY dislike 9, it’s really terrible!!! I guess each to their own… 🙂

    Merry Christmas to all!

  12. Cheryl Wong December 23, 2010 at 23:33 #

I am so glad Cate’s at the top of the list with that Christian Lacroix dress as I voted for it.

Thanks for all the fashion goodies (and tragedies) you’ve given this year, FC. May you have a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and fashionable New Year!

    <3

    • Fashion Critic December 23, 2010 at 23:42 #

      merry Christmas x

  13. Lee Ann December 23, 2010 at 23:06 #

Thank you for reminding me of such beautiful dresses. Merry Christmas.

    • Fashion Critic December 23, 2010 at 23:43 #

      Merry Christmas to you x

  14. frommdq December 23, 2010 at 23:01 #

I am missing carey mulligan in Preen and Camille Belle in her black and white YSL!

  15. Alicat December 23, 2010 at 22:41 #

The list just goes to show just how much personal taste comes into this. To me the Cate Blanchett dress at #1 looks like stiff upholstery fabric. I also wonder how much of a factor the person wearing the dress is when making our choices. Anyway, it is all fun and not to be taken too seriously.

Love and best wishes for a Happy Christmas to you FC, and to all your loyal readers. xx

    • Fashion Critic December 23, 2010 at 23:43 #

      Merry Christmas to you xx

    • noo December 24, 2010 at 16:53 #

it’s interesting because if u go to decades inc’s blog u can see that cate wore the dress backwards, so her sense of style is key factor in her being on the list! it took me a while to like the look on her but now i do 😀

  16. justme December 23, 2010 at 22:28 #

I’m sad I didn’t get to vote but the list is pretty great so no (big) regrets.
The only look look I’m side-eyeing is Emma Watson’s. She looked lovely but not bdoty worthy imo.

  17. noo December 23, 2010 at 22:27 #

so sad my favorites missed out on the top 10. diane kruger in lacroix, gaga in mcqueen and coco rocha in zac posen are all more worthy of a spot instead of rachel mcadams who sucks the life out of her gown. also, does anyone else think it’s weird that rihanna isn’t in the top 10?

FC thank you sooooooooo much for this list, i look forward to seeing your list and i wish you a very merry christmas 😀

    • Fashion Critic December 23, 2010 at 22:39 #

      Merry Christmas to you xxx

      My list will post tomorrow.

  18. Andrew Mackinnon December 23, 2010 at 22:12 #

100% agree with Cate in Christian Lacroix! I totally forgot about her before I voted and instead went for Gaga in Prive at the Grammy’s. I’m surprised she wasn’t in 11-20.
Have a good Christmas too! X

  19. Amber December 23, 2010 at 21:21 #

like/love all these looks except for zoe

    • noo December 23, 2010 at 22:38 #

the bottom half of zoe’s dress looks like a couch. it’s bizarre and unappealing.

  20. anne December 23, 2010 at 20:40 #

Leighton’s number 9 just goes to show how many people read the blog but don’t comment, because as i recall many didn’t like it. I had a hard time before i made my first comment, now i would say something on every post:D.
Anyway, congrats FC for the hard work and the talent. I’m always amazed when you identify a black dress(as they are very similar, especially on the red carpet where the details are kind of lost) or a less known designer, like lady Gaga’s dress from yesterday or Danni Minogue’s choices.
Looking forward for your list tommorow. 😀

    • Fashion Critic December 23, 2010 at 22:15 #

Thanks Anne. My list is different so I’m interested to see what you all think of it x

      • Linda December 23, 2010 at 23:44 #

I think I’ll agree more with your list than this one.

        • Fashion Critic December 24, 2010 at 00:05 #

          oooh…wait and see 😀

  21. LizLemooooon December 23, 2010 at 20:17 #

Emma Watson had one good outfit so I don’t think she should be on there and Leighton’s best outfit for me was that suit she wore but otherwise this is a pretty good list. Still in love with Fan and Zoe and Cate’s gowns. They are works of art.
    Diane looks great, very statuesque.

  22. lou December 23, 2010 at 20:12 #

even now i can’t understand the appeal of #9, i still think it looks like a fishing net on top and a bunch of pink barnacles on her lower half lol. all the others here are well deserved

  23. Natalie December 23, 2010 at 19:40 #

Oh and I can’t wait to see your list, I’m sure you’ll have very interesting choices too!

  24. Natalie December 23, 2010 at 19:39 #

LOVE THIS LIST. Diverse and interesting choices, like Fan Bing Bing and Ksneia Solo, since they’re under the radar and not many year end lists would have them in but their looks easily take huge slices of the Best Dressed cake.

I picked Cate’s look, but I wished I could have voted for Fan Bing Bing too, she was FLAWLESS this year.

  25. andy December 23, 2010 at 19:35 #

Does this mean that all that is left is Critics choice? Are there no more awards being given to individuals.. (i.e. best street style….most worn designer…) I really hope there are more!!

    • Fashion Critic December 23, 2010 at 19:43 #

yes, they will all be coming tomorrow

      • andy December 23, 2010 at 21:46 #

Yay! Thank you FC and happy holidays.

BEST BLOG OF 2010: Red Carpet Fashion Awards!!

My pleasure. Merry Christmas and a very very happy new year for you. Enjoy your vacations dear 🙂

  27. Ally December 23, 2010 at 19:31 #

What an awesome list, fellow readers!

Thanks for your hard work this year, FC. I hope you have a wonderful holiday!

  28. Hisadora December 23, 2010 at 19:16 #

Yeeeeeeeees, I knew anyone couldn’t take from Cate Blanchett her first place, diva!!!!! I think J.lo deserved the 2nd place and Anne Hathaway the 3rd one….. But this year was really fantastic and all of these women look completely amazing. I’m waiting to see your list FC, btw, thank you SO MUCH for your good job this year. I started to read you blog on February and I can’t live without it anymore. 🙂

    • Fashion Critic December 23, 2010 at 19:21 #

thank you so much..Happy Holidays x

  29. Cristina December 23, 2010 at 19:15 #

Well, my #1 ended up at #11. I think Cate the McQueen so much more life than the Lacroix. Also sorry Salma’s burgundy Gucci Premiere gown didn’t make it. Cheers for Emma and Diana-great looks. And I just have to say, I’ve never understood Zoe’s gown–it looks like muppets were slain for it.

Can’t wait to see your list FC!

Merry Christmas to All-Hope there’s Loubs in your stockings!!!!

    • Fashion Critic December 23, 2010 at 19:22 #

Merry Christmas. I’m praying for the same and not socks 😉

  30. Joana Oliveira December 23, 2010 at 19:14 #

AH!! LOVE the fact that Blake Lively and Victoria Beckham aren’t in the top 20…!! 😀

    • Lara December 23, 2010 at 20:19 #

Victoria’s everyday style is amazing, but she’s nothing memorable on the red-carpet

    • E December 24, 2010 at 06:17 #

Haha, I could not agree more!

  31. js December 23, 2010 at 19:03 #

    yes cate! she looks amazing

i think 2 and 9 are awful looks

  32. Mario December 23, 2010 at 18:52 #

    Yay!! 😀
Cate was my choice for best dressed of the year, well deserved!

  33. Lara December 23, 2010 at 18:51 #

Minus 9 and 10 – love this list. Especially Diane and Zoe. And hail the Queen Kate

    • Lara December 23, 2010 at 20:20 #

Cate, not Kate(but i love mrs Beckinsale too)

  34. Thomas Monks December 23, 2010 at 18:51 #

The list is great minus Gwyneth Paltrow and Leighton Meester IMO but the other looks were so well deserved i loved Miranda Kerr in Prada resort 2010 going to get her license renewed

    • Thomas Monks December 23, 2010 at 19:05 #

Oh and btw happy holidays FC thanks for working hard to bring us glamour

      • Fashion Critic December 23, 2010 at 19:22 #

        you are very welcome.

        Happy Holidays x

  35. Alexandra December 23, 2010 at 18:49 #

i’m sad i didn’t get the chance to vote (i was too late and the poll was already closed). but i’m glad that the list looks great anyway. i only don’t find Rachel’s dress spectacular (it’s really pretty however i’m not blown away) and Diane’s (i just hate the mustard yellow, she had many great looks i would have picked instead). i’m also surprised Salma in her burgundy Gucci gown didn’t make even top 20. but theres no chance to please everyone, right? 😉

  36. Jessica December 23, 2010 at 18:45 #

definately think zoe should have been first! and I really loved emma’s look!! Thanks for all the hard work you do FC! Happy holidays!

    • Fashion Critic December 23, 2010 at 18:54 #

      my pleasure x

      Happy Holidays

  37. Anna K. December 23, 2010 at 18:40 #

    Very great! Breath-taking – 1000 % )

  38. From Russia With Love December 23, 2010 at 18:35 #

At least I see Lacroix… hope i’ll like your list more, FC)

the only thing I really don’t get is that Rachel McAdams’ gown. that is just a floral dress. We’ve seen so much better from Elie Saab.

  39. OZALES December 23, 2010 at 18:29 #

To me # 1- Zoe Saldana and #10- Cate Blanchett. I’m sorry I’m just not a fan of that dress.

    • Shell December 23, 2010 at 18:52 #

That is exactly what I was thinking! Cate looks so lifeless in that photo. Zoe #1 Paltrow #2 and so forth

  40. Alina December 23, 2010 at 18:24 #

For me,Emma,Rachel and Leighton shouldn’t be on that list . In their places I would have put Kristin Davis in the pink vintage dress,Dannii Minogue in her J’Aton Couture and Natalie Portman in Rodarte at Cannes.

Fan BingBing is MY BEST DRESSED OF THE YEAR.

  41. Victoria December 23, 2010 at 18:20 #

Awesome! 😀 Fan Bing Bing in dragon robe was my best dressed so I’m glad she made the 6th spot! Also, 5 looks in the top 10 were looks I voted for! 😀

  42. Ev December 23, 2010 at 18:20 #

No surprise about number 1, huh? I’m so sad Coco Rocha in Zac Posen didn’t get to be in top 10. Plus, I think Leighton’s blue Elie Saab was better than this Mark Jacobs. Glad that Fan Bingbing and Rachel McAdams made it. Yay!
Thank you, FC! And I can’t wait to see your list!

    • Luiza December 23, 2010 at 19:40 #

      marC jacobs 🙂

      • Ev December 23, 2010 at 22:31 #

Thanks. Sorry, I always make stupid typos 🙁

  43. gopika December 23, 2010 at 18:15 #

great list =D but i cant help but wish that elizabeth banks in georges chakra at the cannes film festival was on this instead of leighton meester. She truly did her stunning gown justice and she looked breath-taking 🙂

    • gopika December 24, 2010 at 06:45 #

oh sorryyyy i forgot to say Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!!!!! hope you have a lot of fun!!!! keep up your hard work on this site because now it has become a permanent part of my life =)

Merry Christmas to you too. I appreciate your kind words

  44. Stylerep December 23, 2010 at 18:12 #

    Yaaaaaay Paltrow!!

  45. Erik December 23, 2010 at 18:10 #

I still do not see whats so special about number 10.. but whatever. Only 1 of my top 10 ended up in the final top 10, and 1 just missed out on the final top 10

    • Erik December 23, 2010 at 20:50 #

Btw, thank you so much for all your hard work! I love your site and I visit at least 5 times a day to see if there’s any updates and post like these make your site even better.

        Merry Christmas xxxx

    • Mimy December 24, 2010 at 02:45 #

i can’t see it either! can’t believe it made the top 10.

  46. Hannah December 23, 2010 at 18:07 #

What a completely fabulous list! Good on emma for being the only one not in a gown or logn dress. I am shocked at Leighton, because altough I loved this look, I remember many of the comments saying otherwise! Each and every look is fabulous. WEll done on compiling it so fast FC, thankyou it has been a great year!

    • Fashion Critic December 23, 2010 at 18:11 #

my pleasure. Next year is going to be even better. I can feel it

      • Hannah December 23, 2010 at 18:19 #

Sorry I forgot to say, Have an amazing and truly, truly well deserved holiday, Have a lovely christmas and increible new year, on both of which I am sure you will be chic as ever!PS I hope you get the leopard print giuseppes!

I’m praying santa brings me a lot this year 😉

  47. rebecca December 23, 2010 at 18:05 #

ahhh!! i literally screamed when i saw this!! the whole thing was soo well deserved, though i think that rachel mcadams and jennifer lopez deserved a higher level on the list. can’t wait to see what YOU have to say about bdoty FC! i love your blog! keep it up:)

    • rebecca December 23, 2010 at 18:07 #

      oh and ps: happy holidays:)

      • Fashion Critic December 23, 2010 at 18:10 #

        you too xxx

    • Fashion Critic December 23, 2010 at 18:07 #

thanks rebecca. My list will post tomorrow

  48. Sasha December 23, 2010 at 18:05 #

I love Rachel but I will never understand the love for her Oscar dress. It’s pretty but so boring and basic and looks like something you would wear to a wedding or a prom. She didn’t style it very excitingly either.

Zoes was my favorite by lightyears

  49. Andreea December 23, 2010 at 18:04 #

Good choices.Cate deserves to be the first one.

  50. anna December 23, 2010 at 18:01 #

wow! i would never imagine that leighton would be in this list with this look!

    • Vidhya December 24, 2010 at 10:03 #
