Recently I attended the Relative MO Press Day in London.
I was greeted with 2 floors full of Spring 2011 looks including the floral prints and enchanting lace dresses by Erdem, and the pastel Emilio de la Morena dresses and separates.
I was also introduced to many designers at this press day.
Raphael Young is considered the hot new designer in footwear. He’s just opened up his first store in the Paris where he is based.
His signature is sculptural heels with a twist. They are extreme, architectural and powerful.
Bionda Castana’s Spring 2011 collection consists of classic shoes with an edge.
They are made in Italy using only the most luxurious fabrics and they exude true femininity.
Charlotte Olympia is the celebrity favourite. I can see many wearing her Spring 2011 collection.
The collection is dominated by striking solid colours and strong platforms. I particularly loved the “Tutti Fruitti” shoes as well as the knot detail pointy pumps.
Irish designer Sharon Wauchob shows in Paris.
I loved her Spring 2011 collection which features lots of textural pieces, pleats and frayed fabrics. Everything felt so light and easy to wear even the leather.
Shiatzy Chen’s Spring 2011 collection featured a lot of bright colourful pieces.
I saw many short dresses – some with mandarin necklines – separates and adorable ruffled bloomers.
The Commuun collection included pretty sporty separates with modern colourful prints.
Tabitha Simmons serves up a ‘black pump free’ Spring 2011 collection which mostly consisted of stripes on canvas and leather.
I enjoyed seeing Z Spoke by Zac Posen up close as I really loved the quirky patterns and the colours from the Spring 2011 New York presentation.
The mainline collection was a lot less quirky and oozed sexy sophistication.
That feathered Zac Posen Spring 2011 dress would look divine on Megan Fox.
Giles and Preen were my highlights of this press day.
The details on the Preen collection are even more spectacular up close and the material wasn’t as heavy as it appeared on the runway.
I was super excited to see those Victoria lampshade Mary Katrantzou skirts up close as they were my highlight of London Fashion Week.
You can see the amount of detail that went into making such a gorgeous creation in the picture above.
