Most Daring Award
Emma Roberts has been wearing a lot of Topshop lately, but she opted for a high-end designer when she arrived on the red carpet at the 2010 British Fashion Awards in London this evening.
Surprisingly she opted for a dress from the Julien Macdonald Spring 2011 lingerie inspired collection, after wearing maxi dresses for her last few outings.
The dress is super short I guess the young actress wanted to feel comfortable by adding black tights to her look.
I would’ve love this look even more had they modified the dress by making it less revealing under the bust.
Nicholas Kirkwood heels completed her look.

She shouldn’t be wearing a dress that short if she doesn’t want to show off her too skinny legs. I mean really, you wear short dresses to show off your legs. NO TIGHTS. She ruined the look with the tights. I like the dress on her, but if she is not entirely comfortable in the dress DON’T WEAR IT.
Not a big fan of this collection at all so Im glad she wore tights with it. Makes it look less like lingerie.
I think she looks cute. I don’t have a problem with the tights.
This looks like lingerie to me!
I’m surprised that I didn’t hate the tights here! She looks so beautiful, love the dress.
aren’t she shoes prada?
i think the look is ok but not more
they are kirkwood’s
I actually think that the dress looks better with the tights…
Iliked it. She stands out from others teens. It seems she tries to look more grown up.
I am, for once, thankful for the tights. Without them this would look like nightwear. I agree about the under the bust thing, but tbh, one wears Julien macdonald, usually, primarily to be ‘sexy’ so that would defeat the point slightly, if improving the garment.
The thing thats really buggin me is that she camouflaged the Nicholas Kirkwood heels w/ black tights! You can’t see the shoe! Its Nicholas Kirkwood! Why would anybody do that? What was her stylist thinking? SMH
I really like it with the tights.
It looks better with the tights. Now it looks like a dress and not a oversized shirt.
I agree! Although tights with lots of skin showing up top always looks a little off-balance to me.
It looks more like lingerie than a dress to me.
I don’t like this, it looks tacky, especially with that cutout, which the model’s dress does not appear to have. But then, I’m not a fan of this designer or of lingerie inspired clothes. Save it for the bedroom, please. Her hair colour seems to wash her out too. Not sure if that’s close to her natural colour or not.
It definitely looks lingerie-inspired.
A little length would have been better than the tights. I just don’t like it on her at all. I don’t even like the cut-outs on the side. Emma usually does so well on the red carpet. This is a disappointment.
I like it. It is cute and sassy. The tights anchor the look.
I don’t mind the tights. The dress looks cute on her with the tights. She looks pretty here.
Cute!
I like this look on Emma so much better than on the model. It looks much less like lingerie. Part of that, I think, is because she’s wearing it less like a “baby doll” dress. I’d completely wear this look as Emma styled it.
For me,the dress itself is ugly .
I think its fresh and age appropriate for her. Too many young starlets try so hard to look old….im looking at you Miley Cyrus!!….
arent the shoes these prada ones?
they are kirkwood
