Charlize Theron In Versace – 2010 Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project Benefit

Charlize Theron’s Africa Outreach Project Benefit as been raising money for safer and healthier lives for at-risk children in her native country South Africa since 2007.

The gorgeous actress wore a divine Versace white dress with patent leather trims from the Spring 2011 collection.

Her look was event appropriate. The event wasn’t about her which is why I don’t hate her Stella McCartney cropped blazer which she paired with her stunning white knee-length cocktail dress, as it adds a lot of sophistication to her look.

This effortlessly chic look was paired with nude Versace sandals and a black clutch.

On this rare occasion I would’ve preferred black sandals.

Do you like Charlize’s shoe choice?

Update: Looks like Charlize wasn’t too sure on the nude heels either because she changed to black sandals during the event.

Love the pairing of the dress and blazer, but not so much for the heels. But overall, I thought it was very appropriate :)

LOL you are very fussy sometimes FC..
I think her shoe choice was on point! Think black pumps may have looked to heavy! Black sandals may have been OK

oh.. love the shoes.. wud have loved the runway shoes even more.. such sophisticated perfection..

The dress is nice but what goes against her is the bust are of the dress as it’s too low for her. I also think her make-up is off.

The shoes are o.k as is the jacket but it have been interesting to see how it would have looked without the jacket on her

      exactly my opinion.
the hair is awful and the colour is weird, so yellow….?

I am bored. This is chic but BORING. Meh. She likes to be cutting-edge chic or glam, and this is a failed attempt at cutting edge.

I agree the makeup is off. Should have gone with the nude lipstick look she goes for instead of red. But I don’t think the bust is too low. It looks chic on her because she’s not too busty. lol.

  10. ruth December 7, 2010 at 14:53 #

Has she had some plastic surgery? Her face looks wierd.

    She looks great. Very chic.

  13. T. December 7, 2010 at 15:20 #

Why is she hiding that dress with a blazer? And I’m also not a huge fan of the shoes…

    • Tahj December 7, 2010 at 18:28 #

I think the point of the look was the dress with the blazer. It makes for a sophisticated combo. If it were just by itself, it would be boring.

      • artemis December 7, 2010 at 23:43 #

yes but I think it would be better if the dress hadn’t the nude details on the bust,..then it would be the perfect match,.. with black shoes of course!

Charlize did in fact change her shoes to black! Check out the photos of the day on the People.com…there’s a pic with Jon Hamm and her – shoes are definitely changed!

She looks a little too “fashion editor” stuck up in this dress or something. I do like it better with the black shoes, but this look feels very stand-offish to me.

  17. Tahj December 7, 2010 at 18:27 #

This is what I call chic. No one can do effortless chic like Charlize. The pairing of the jacket with the white dress is perfection and so elegant and sophisticated. The only thing I don’t like is the makeup. She is one actress who actually looks better with the natural looking makeup. Sometimes she can pull off the red lip beautifuly if her hair is looser, but with it in a tight chignon it looks too harsh and plastic. But I’ve seen other photos from this event and the best one was definitely not chosen. Girlfriend rocked it. Both her and Angelina killed it in white. Jolie looked greecian, Theron looked chic. Both looked elegant though.

I really love Charlize, and I get so excited whenever I see her on this site. She looks beautiful, but I wish she had worn a different cover up, although I don’t mind the jacket she chose. Green shoes to match her jewells would ahve been ideal, but i am glad she changed to black heels.

I don’t like the jacket with the dress. I wish that she would have just worn something different rather than cover up that pretty dress.

I love this ensemble with the black shoes (do you think she read your site FC, and thought ‘I must change’? Did you blog live?!)

Not sure where she pulled the black shoes from as the clutch is tiny, but bravo nonetheless!
