Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: November 2010

It’s always a pleasure to see a real diva on the red carpet.

Natalie Cole looked beautiful as she arrived at the Silver Hill Hospital 80th Anniversary Gala in New York City as the Mistress of Ceremonies.

The Gala raised over $1.2 million, which will go to provide financial assistance for adolescents and young adults who desperately need residential treatment but are without adequate resources to cover the costs.

Natalie was radiant on the red carpet wearing a Dennis Basso gown.

Her blacked beaded and tulle gown with Swarovski crystals has the same texture as Look 35 from the Fall 2010 collection.

She added a fur stole, a satin sash tied to the waist and dazzling earrings to compete her look.

Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal arrived in London last week, and I was eagerly awaiting the London Premiere of their new movie, “Love & Other Drugs.”

But during that time they’ve returned to the US for the New York Premiere. I’ll guess we’ll have to await their return.

Anne Hathaway did what she does best on the red carpet – glow with gorgeousity.

She wore a delightful Valentino Fall 2010 dress.

The adorable floral print dress with a tiered silhouette is perfect for someone as sugary sweet as Anne, although I had pictured Dakota Fanning in this dress.

I love how she’s tied the sheer bow to one side whilst sweeping her hair over the other.

The nude accessories including a Jimmy Choo Chandra clutch perfectly complement the look and I’m over the moon that she didn’t wear pumps.

As with most posts on Anne I would like to end by saying this is a BDOTW contender for me.

When I posted Emma Watson wearing a Dion Lee dress yesterday, I said I couldn’t wait for Net-A-Porter.com to launch the Australian designers collection.

As if my magic my prayers were answered this morning as both the Net-A-Porter US and Net-A-Porter International sites have added Dion Lee’s Resort 2011 collection to their virtual shelves.

Dion Lee’s Resort 2011 inkbot collection fuses traditional tailoring techniques with contemporary cuts to produce an ultra modern, figure-skimming silhouette.

I love his sexy yet chic cut-out cocktail dresses and his sharply tailored jackets.

Leighton Meester attended the Harry Winston Court Of Jewels Recreation Launch in New York City last night.

She boldly wore a Marchesa Spring 2011 sheer lace jumpsuit.

The jumpsuit has an extreme plunging neckline, an embellished waistband and an open back.

It leaves very little to the imagination, but Leighton it classy enough to pull it off.

I really admire this look.

I don’t like the necklace, but that was the purpose of the event.

As I said yesterday Leighton is keeping things really interesting on the red carpet, this is just another chapter of that book.

Nicholas Kirkwood heels, pinned up hair, ruby lips and her Ball bag complete her look.

Not everyone is going to like this, but I’ll take this look over another Spring 2011 floral dress in mid-November.

Despite a heavy promotional schedule, Emma Watson still looked as fresh as daisy on NBC’s The Today Show yesterday.

She arrived wearing her studded Burberry trench, but on the show she revealed a gorgeous Carven Fall 2010 dress.

The demure shirt collar figure hugging taupe dress was paired Sergio Rossi pumps and a grosgrain belt.

Emma was on the Today Show to talk about her new movie, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1″ but the first question Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb asked her was about all the attention her haircut been has received.

“I wasn’t really anticipating so much drama about it,” she said, “but it’s great; I’m loving it.”

You can purchase Emma’s dress from Net-A-Porter US or Net-A-Porter International.
