Best Dressed/Most Improved Hair Award
This time Rihanna IS wearing Elie Saab at the 2010 American Music Awards tonight in LA.
You may remember the singer incorrectly name checked the designer at the EMAs when she was actually wearing Marchesa, but on this occasion she wore a gown from Elie Saab’s Fall 2010 Couture collection.
I know I said the same thing for Miley, but this is one of Rihanna’s best ever looks.
Thank god she toned down the hair colour.
This more subtle shade works perfectly with her scarlet gown with subtle floral detailing. The brighter colour would not have worked.
I would’ve expected something more wild and crazy from Rihanna tonight, but I’m not disappointed with her look.
She looked sexy, sophisticated and fearless as always. I’m so happy to see a look from that Couture collection on the red carpet.
BDOTW contender for me.

it’s nice to see her tone down the crazy every once in a while. this gown is a great color on her, even if it’s a tad matchy matchy with her new hair color (which by the way is a massive step in the right direction from her previous clown rouge). i hope she keeps her hair like this for a little while.

I am don’t get excited about Rihanna (her Marchesa look left me cold), but here she looks incredible!!! I like the hair, the dress – everything. It’s still very ‘Rihanna’ but more mature and polished. BDOTW contender for me.

My first thought was “What a gorgeous dress.” Then, I saw the hair, and I ammended that to “What a fantastic look.” I’m glad Rihanna wore this beautiful dress because she pulls it off better than anyone could. Who knew the AMA’s would be such a well-dressed event?

Somewhat reminiscent of Halle Berry’s Elie Saab when she won her Oscar, no? The colour, appliqued florals on the sheer background instantly reminded me of it. Beautiful gown on Rihanna. Very statuesque.
Not loving the hair though, but as mentioned thank god she toned down that awful Koolaid Red she’s been sporting as that would have looked ridiculous with this gown.
I really, really like this .The Earth tones are just meshing really well.
Basically: I’ll adore Rihanna when her hair isn’t a godawful shade of….I can’t even name it.

i think i will be the only one to say that, but i really really hate this look at all. i think that the dress doesn’t suit her. totally. maybe is the color again her wonderful skin that doesn’t work for me. and the hair? no words.

I like the dress but I wish someone else would have worn it. She looks like she’s trying way too hard and not succeeding. But thank god she doesn’t have Cherry Koolaide colored hair!
Say what you want but both dresses Rihanna worn at the AMA was without a doubt the best dress. The hair, dress, skin tone killed it. I love her style

After seeing Karolina Kurkova on the runway in this dress my jaw dropped. Perfect fit.
I feel the opposite when seeing Rihanna in this dress, she doesn’t do it justice. I love it from the head down. I’m sorry but the matching hair color and dress doesn’t work, if she would have gone back to her dark hair and would have straightened it or a nice up do, the look would have been much better.
Personally for me, I love everything about it except the hair. The curls don’t work for me and I think it’s a little too matchy matchy.
This is the first time ever, I like her look from head to toe. The hair looks good, I like this tone of red and the curls and the dress is very beautiful. Was she drunk when she decided to dress like a lady? She’s very young but she doesn’t need to dress so edgy and trashy to make herself noticed.

Gorgeous. This was my favorite gown from this collection and Rihanna looks beautiful. So glad she changed her hair color and hairstyle.
I am a big Ellie Saab fan but I didn’t like either of Ri’s gowns on the runway so not surprising I didn’t like them at an event either. I thought both were just too old for her. And her hair is such a distracting joke at this point I can’t take her “seriously”. It’s too big and it’s too poofy. Less is more sometimes Rihanna.

On the fence. I love the dress, but for some reason, this doesn’t seem very AMA to me.
