I gave Alexa Chung a pass yesterday in Valentino, but she looked like death warmed up at Google’s Boutiques.com Launch Party in New York City last night with her ghostly make-up and straggly hair.
She wore an Proenza Schouler Fall 2010 long sleeve dress with a blue and green abstract print which I really like, but I prefer to see looks like this on people with a bit more personality when it comes to fashion like Chloe Sevigny.
Her look was paired with tights, ankle strap heels and a Marni studded clutch from the 2010 Winter Edition.

I actually like the dress and bag but she just doesn’t carry it off.
She wears some great individual pieces, but somehow she always manages to kill a potentially great look. Her supposedly low key, effortless style looks try hard in a couldn’t care less sense. That all sounds contradictory, but that is what her “style” is – contradictory.
Overated Chung ought to be her name. this is a bit like a maiden aunt or a badly dressed student,

She sucks the life out of designer clothes with her dull appearance and apparent lack of personality, charisma and that special aura. Designer should FORBID Alexa Chung from buying any clothes from them, as she MURDERS anything and everything she wears.
The most overrated fashion icon ever. I get so sick of seeing her name and fashion icon next to it.
I love the dress on the model. It’s fun and quirky. But because of Alexa’s horrific grooming, the dress fall so flat. I don’t know why designers allow her to borrow their beautiful garments only to see them get butchered on the red carpet.
I assume she isn’t, since she attends the opening of any envelope, but she always looks ill to me.
