Natalie Portman In Lanvin – Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences’ 2nd Annual Governors Awards

As always Natalie Portman was class personified at the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences’ 2nd Annual Governors Awards this weekend.

She looked gorgeous wearing a magenta Lanvin Resort 2011 gown which looks a lot like the Lanvin Spring 2010 gown worn by Juliette Binoche during Cannes Film Festival.

The difference – apart from the material – is Natalie’s silk wrap gown has a waistband and a pompom detail on the shoulder.

Stella McCartney magenta satin t-strap platform sandals which she teams with a gold embellished clutch and a simple updo completes her look.

Spectacular as always. That colour is wonderful on her.

What a well-dressed event this was!

Absolutely gorgeous! The dress is beautiful and her shoe choice just perfect this look. BDOTW contender.

so much better than her last outfit. natalie looks better in long elegant gowns like this…the colour is gorgeous. glad she opted for nice looking heels as opposed to the last one’s she wore!

it’s only me or there’s anyone else who thinks that people says that Natalie always looks great only because of her beauty and talent? i mean, sometimes she’s deff not looking good, but her beautiful face makes everything looks better.

like this lavin look, for exemple. the dress make her look shorter than she’s really is, and the sandals are awful, but she still looks beautiful because SHE IS beautiful. i’m sure that if were anybody else, everybody wood say that is a bad look.

    • michelle November 15, 2010 at 14:45 #

though i think she looks great here, im not particularly fond of her sandals

    • Tahj November 15, 2010 at 20:54 #

That’s just what I’m saying. I agree. It’s always her that makes the dress. You want the star to shine not the dress. That’s why I think women that beautiful like her, Charlize Theron, Diane Lane, Angelina Jolie should go for simple but sophisticated gowns. Nothing too fussy to detract from their beauty and personality.

    *Sigh* Always perfect!

I think she looks good most of the time. It’s hard to spot an outfit she doesn’t look good in.

  7. Alina November 15, 2010 at 14:58 #

So elegant! She’s a beautiful lady.

  8. Ayesha November 15, 2010 at 15:05 #

  9. Rach November 15, 2010 at 15:05 #

Love the color, but hate the gown.

  12. Laura November 15, 2010 at 15:28 #

Purple and gold are an underrated combo. It looks gorgeous on her. People can and have royally screwed up wearing Lanvin, but Natalie got it right. She looks fabulous.

  13. Suz November 15, 2010 at 15:32 #

Beautiful. She almost looks like a little purple Oscar statuette. :)

the dress is wonderful!!!but something is missing…i don’t know what!!because she is beatiful as always, the sandals are cute -altought they may be the problem cause of the matchy-matchy….but i repeat. she is very cute!

  16. Marvel November 15, 2010 at 16:28 #

    Great look for her.
The colour is outstanding but something is missing. Better make-up?

  17. Leo November 15, 2010 at 16:30 #

  19. Hannah November 15, 2010 at 18:35 #

There is nothing I can say to explain how much I love this. I LOVE the colour, I lvoe natalie, I love the clutch, I love the shoes. EASILY BODTW for me !

  20. Tahj November 15, 2010 at 20:52 #

She has worn purple a lot and I see why. It looks beautiful on her. She likes to wear jewel tone colors and nice feminime gowns with ruffles and chiffon, but she still manages to not look over the top. She keeps it just simple and classy enough so that her own beauty show. That’s what the real stars do. They don’t have to go for these flashy couture gowns because you want your personality and your aura to stand out. If you go for something too flashy, the gown will stand out and not the star.

  21. karen November 15, 2010 at 21:45 #

She looks nice but nothing exciting to jump about.

  22. moja31 November 16, 2010 at 01:12 #

the matchy shoes kill and otherwise flawless look.

  23. mochababe73 November 16, 2010 at 01:16 #

I just don’t get it. While she never bores me on the red carpet, I don’t think that I have ever really liked anything that she wears.
Natalie takes risks, but I always think that they are in the wrong direction.

  24. Ariel November 16, 2010 at 06:10 #

I love the color. The overall dress looks sloppy & I wish it was longer. Also I dont like the shoes with it either.
