I almost had heart failure when I saw Gwyneth Paltrow in this Atelier Versace Fall 2010 as she arrived at the 2010 CMA Awards in Nashville last night.
What a perfect vision of perfection.
Who knew her Atelier Versace one shoulder beaded ombre gown had a sexy thigh-high split and a cut-out detail on the side.
Jennifer Lopez is kicking herself that she didn’t get to wear this dress first.
Gwynie worked the hell out of this gown. It the power and allure of Versace.
I feel so proud of her because I didn’t know she had this in her.
Christian Louboutin satin peep toes and her straight blonde locks sweeping to one side completes this look.
Definitely in contention for BDOTW and for my BDOTY list.
As you know Gwyneth also performed on the night. Here’s a look at what she wore.
She wore a Lanvin Spring 2011 black metallic ruched dress which has a deep plunge.
The dress was teamed with a guitar, bordeaux Brian Atwood ‘Eastwood’ booties and selection of gold necklaces.
I like that she toned down the look for her performance and made it all about her voice.
I know everyone was expecting her to fail, but I think she has a beautiful voice.

That event was about 3 days ago. I just wanted to say that I will not be featuring Donatella. On that day blogged from 10am to 10pm. There was no space for her and I don’t think the dress was special enough to feature.
I’m happy to feature celebrities when I have something to say about what they are wearing.
In that case it was a runway dress. She didn’t modify it so there was nothing to talk about.
I hope they explains why I didn’t feature her and a I hope this will respectfully put an end to the daily requests.
I know it’s hard to post so much outfits everyday so I respect your choice. As a fan I hoped to ses her here but I have patience and hope she will appear again in future. I know that she did not modify the dress but she was a great winner that night ’cause she was the first italian woman to win the Glamour Award.

MY GODDESS!!!!!! I almost fell of my chair right now. Seriously, she looks D I V I N E. God, I can’t speak. She’s truly wonderful. I’m surprised that when I saw that dress on the model I didn’t like it but Gwynie make it looks wonderfully beautiful.

I agree, she doesn’t have a curvy waist – in a slammin body, that’s the one thing missing, and, unfortunately, this truly gorgeous dress emphasizes that. In fact, that’s the interesting thing to me, that she chose to emphasize her one less than perfect body part. Normally, it seems she knows what works for her, but I guess we all have our deluded moments!

Agree too. At first, the cut out appears to create the illusion of a curvier figure, but when your eye draws away from the actual dress, the exposed skin makes her look straight and wide.
I agree re: the sidecut. IMO, it’s making her appear extra hippy, Perhaps it’s just this pose. In any event, say what you will about Paltrow, but this woman always brings it. Regardless of what gown she chooses, she ALWAYS shows up looking confident and comfortable in her choices.
Agree as well. The dress disfigures her in the weirdest way. It makes her thighs look huge, and then the tiny waist and chest, and those crooked cuts…
She looks like something Picasso would draw.
I think it is because her skin is the same color as the CMA paneling in the background. Had it been a different color, I don’t think this it would look so creepy. I first saw the picture on the event best dressed vote and thought maybe she was wearing a WEIRD corset.
Yeah… the dress looks stunning on the model. On Gwyneth it’s weird and the proportions look off.
OMGGGG pure perfection, that gown was made for her!!!!!so sexy but not tacky!!!so happy jennifer didn’t used it instead of sweet gwyneth…moreover she can sing!!!i’ve just heard her, she did it very well and her outfir for the performance was also great!!
she look amazing!! i was wowed the minute i saw the photos of her. she definitely did justice to this gorgeous dress. she is stunning for her age an pulls off this dress with such ease and sophistication. even her shoes are perfecttt!

I’m surprised so many people thought she would fail. We’ve definitely heard her sing before (she had multiple songs in the movie Duets) and she’s going to be on Glee in a few weeks. I can’t imagine someone in her position would sing live if she didn’t think she could do it!

I’m not in love with this dress and the cut-out as much as everyone else. I think that it doesn’t really give her a shape. Saw another picture of her from the same angle as the model’s photo above, and I think the dress looked much better.
I don’t love the cut-out either. Love the style and color, but not that cut-out, it just ruins the lines IMO.

I’m sorry but I don’t like it. She’s a knock out that’s for sure love the design on her but I just don’t like the colours. They make it look a tad bit taky in my opinion. I picture it more as a Katy Perry-dress or even Heidi Montag…

I used to really dislike Gwyneth Paltrow however when I heard give a radio interview on one my local country stations here in Texas, I found her to be endearing and quite warm. So, I have to say that I was rather proud of her perfomance on the CMA’s last night and she looked stunning.
This is one of the best I’ve seen of Gwyneth. She looks stunning.
The dress is AMAZING but im not happy about the sheer part on the side as it makes her hips looks funny. BUT an AMAZING look
I like the Lanvin look and I do agree that I was expecting her to sort of fail or lip sync but she has a very nice voice. Cant wait to see her on Glee
When I first saw this look I thought Wow with a Capital WOW. But then I saw the cut out . Then I saw that the cut out actually hid the fact that her torso is straight up and down like a boy. Then I thought I wish that someone with a waist wore this .

Gwyneth Paltrow showed the country gals what a star is made of. She looks incredible, this is one of the best looks of the year. 10 out of 10. And she’s a pretty decent singer, who knew country music would suit her voice. Amazing.

The booties with the Lanvin are a bit off, but otherwise I quite like the look.
The cut-out bothers me on the Versace. It’s such an amazing dress in it’s core (the colours are INSANE!) but I think the cut-out makes the dress lose a few points rather than take it further.

I’m not sure if I like the Versace dress because my eyes can’t get pass the cut out which made Gweneth’s body look weird, IMO. I think she looked great in the Lanvin dress and the boots, very modern and chic enough for the stage.
Gotta be honest I don’t love this dress. It adds some width to her that I don’t like. And the ombre colors don’t look right on a blonde with a fake tan. Not my fave.

I liked her performance dresstoo, it is so simple and for me the simplicity of it has such an impact, as it isso different to most other performance clothes.

Unfortunate what the cutout does to her torso. Not too thrilled with the pepto-bismol pink at the bottom either. I do not think the Versace does her justice. Love the performance dress though and her in it.
She looks great in this picture, but in every other one I’ve seen (particularly when she’s walking) it looks awful! The high slit and cut out look trashy and don’t flatter her very slim, lanky torso.
Gwyneth can do anything! She can act and morph into different characters on screen, she can take on different career paths in life, and she can pull off many red carpet looks. What I like more is that she looks completely relaxed, confident and radiant in every look, never too manufacturered, including her natural body with flat chest (so what? skinny women are real women, too!).
