Carrie Underwood was the host of 2010 CMA Awards in Nashville, Tennessee last night.
I absolutely adored her extravagant Talbot Runhof Fall 2010 gown.
I think this gown won’t be that popular with many people because the tulle layered rosette detailed gown is very different from what we’ve seen Carrie wear in the past.
It’s very dark, mysterious and dramatic and Carrie usually does embellished, frothy and cute.
She accessorized her look with a Swarovski crystal clutch.
Do you love it or hate it?
Check back later to see what Carrie wore when she presented the CMAs.

Just like with Taylor Swift I’ve been dying to see Carrie in something that’s not cute/embellished/princess-like and here I get two out of two with them both stepping (slightly) out of their comfort zone.
The sad part is that both choose dark colours to do so. That’s not so original. But kudos to both girls for trying something different!
Is really beautiful. I just wish she wear the runway color, because ir shows better the details in the rufles
It looks stunning on the runway and falls slightly flat on Carrie. Her Country hair and lack of poise ruins the dress. I think the dark nature of this dress would suit Evan Rachel Wood a lot better
Oh, I really like that idea!
I love the dress on her. She along with Gwyneth were the best dressed of the night.
If it were a jewel color, I would love it–sapphire, emerald, ruby. Even white would be beautiful. In black it’s meh.
I actually love it! The dress is amazing and I really like how she styled her hair.
I love it. Some may say this this isn’t a traditional Carrie Underwood style, but I beg to differ. She carries it off well.
I like it but it looks better on the runway. Carrie is not really selling it.
Agreed. You need a kick ass personality to pull this look off and Carrie is far too cutesy.
i *love* it…to me this was the best dress at the event!
So beautiful!
Love it!
She looks beautiful and the dress has the drama we all want for an Awards event. I particuarly love that she has gone for something different and opted for a less known (or at least less worn) designer.
I think it is stunning. She could have worn her hair up, but she looks lovely as she is. I do like the runway color better, but this ain’t bad!
Her hair and attitude don’t feel right but it’s a beautiful dress.
I absolutely love it! BEAUTY!
beautiful dress. country or not, she is working it.. .. the ruffles needed to stand up a little bit and the red shoes would have been a blessing..
as i’m kind of a rock chic myself, I’d never thought that i would say that but… thank God for Country Music Awards
totally. they know how to do big gown glamour
It’s an explosion of fabric.
It was a glorious dress she was glorious!
that’s all.
I don’t like this at all. It looks all too over the top.
I don’t like the way her hair is styled,it does not compliment the dress at all.
Love this dress! And it is wonderful to see Carrie step out of her usual style. I wish she’d worn her hair up, not in a Miss America/Bridesmaid do, but a messy, romantic updo to enhance the inherent drama of the dress. Her hair (albeit gorgeous) is too sunny & casual for this moody beauty of a dress.
I absolutely love it!!!
love it on the runway, hate it on carrie.
beautiful dress ! could do better with clutch bag/accessory?
It’s too much dress for Carrie. In every sense of the word. Too big for her petite frame and too bold & dramatic for her sweet & sunny disposition. Great dress – wrong wearer.
What an eyesore! This is hideous, tacky, and typical over the top Carrie Underwood.
I’m not sure if i like the dress or not but i am sure that i don’t like it on carrie. Too much dress for her petite frame. The dress is absolutely wearing her and not the other way around.
It’s a lot of dress but she’s working it. The darker color than the runway works really well on Carrie.
I am so glad most people loved this look! I thought I was the only one!! It is gorgeous–slightly different look for Carrie, but man, she could wear a potato sack and still look amazing!
I like it would have looked better on her if she was taller!
i like the runway color better. the details just pop more.
Hate it – too much like a toliet roll cover for me I’m afraid!
