On Monday night in the US ‘Gossip Girl’ aired episode 8 of Season 4 titled, “Juliet Doesn’t Live Here Anymore.”
I won’t give the storyline away because I haven’t seen it myself as it airs tonight in the UK, but it looks like the girls are going to a grand ball as they’re all looking very elegant in their gowns.
We’ve already seen pictures of Leighton Meester in Ralph Lauren with a Judith Leiber clutch and Christian Louboutin heels, plus Blake Lively in Zuhair Murad with a Halston clutch.
The additional pictures are of Katie Cassidy and Jessica Szohr.
Katie wears a stunning blue pleated J. Mendel Spring 2010 gown with nude cap sleeves.
Her look is paired with a stunning Ranjana Khan necklace and Carlos Falchi clutch.
We’ve seen this gown worn by Tatiana Blatnik and Vera Farmiga.
Jessica wore a printed Christian Cota Spring 2010 gown with a ruffled neckline. Her gown was paired with a tan Lauren Merkin clutch.
On the runway the J.Mendel is my favourite look, but I’m not crazy about how it looks on Katie as it has too much added to it for such an ethereal gown.
On the ‘real-way’ I just love the Ralph Lauren gown on Leighton. It’s the perfect chic look for the Upper East Side princess.

i love all of them minus the ralph lauren, a bit corny for me…but they’re so beautiful!!!!serena’s dress is wonderful and the mendel is sooo cute!
I too love Leighton’s look, especially the whole slightly quirky but easy flow this dress creates for her – she’s becoming a superstar fashion wise for me lately what with this and the MJ the other day!
I lvoe Leighton’s loo, but when they are all together she seems to ahve gotten the short straw. It is seasons old (I am usually not against this but when compared to 2010 looks notso much) and itjsutdoesn’t ahve th esame grandeur that h eothers do. it is also humiliating that Blake wore a VERy similar dress already on Gossip Girl, 2 (maybe more) years ago.
Its all about BLAIR. Always was, always will be. Oh and Chuck too

I am far too old to enjoy this programme having been an original gossip girl circa 1978 but I do love all the gowns but held a particular liking for the RL .

i love the 4 dresses on the models, but I only like L. Meester in R. Lauren, I’m not convinced about B. Lively in Z. Murad, and most of all I don’t like J. Szohr in evening dresses, so far her character in Gossip Girl is the less interesting.
Blake’s dress looked much better on screen when I saw it last night
I do think they over powered the J Mendel dress with the necklace, but when there was a close up of her, I couldnt take my off her stunning necklace.
Blake’s gown looked a hell of a lot better on screen but Blair was my favourite.
PS. Having seen the episode, did you find it ironic that ‘poor’ Juliet couldnt afford simple pencil dresses but could afford a J Mendel dress. LOL
