Kate Mara was at The Academy in Beverly Hills last night for the “127 Hours” LA Premiere.
The actress wore a turquoise Peter Som Spring 2011 ultra mini dress.
Instead of wearing the sleeveless shirt like the model, Kate wore a beautiful Amrapali diamond collar necklace to give the look more sophistication.
My first thought was that her look needed a belt, but on reflection I think a stand out clutch and a matching cuff would’ve made this look more exciting.
The one thing I won’t knock are her ruby heels, despite the fact I wish they were strappy sandals instead of pumps.

+ big earrings?
Oui
I love the necklace with the dress but I agree she needed to do more with the outift.
YES, this was one of my favorite collections from NYC fashion week. She wears it well, but as you said FC, something is missing. But she looked great. Maybe some vintage big earing from decades.
I love the outfit!
Sweet baby Jesus on a stick – the dress looks to die for on the model. Legs that go on forever are a must-have accessory for a look like this.
Kate fails there so the dress ends up looking insanely plain.
Whaaat! The model looks skeletal! Those legs look painfully thin!
Kate is a real woman with actual legs and brings the dress to life, IMO.
Aye, the model’s legs are a “bit” to thin, but I adore how the model looks because of the proportions.
The dress on the model has this certain flirtatious-feeling to it and on Kate it loses that and fails to stand out.
Very sophisticated. Have to say that I find the picture of the runway quite disturbing. That model is deathly thin.
I agree, her thighs look too small.
the dress looks lovely but i would have loved the shoes more if they were sandals or even peep toe.
I have to say I really like the no-earrings look sometimes, it adds freshness.
The dress has a bright colour, the necklace is perfect, the shoes are nice…I would have added a nice bracelet.
She needed a little sparkle on her ears.
I completely agree that she should have worn some strappy sandals. Those shoes are cute, but they are too heavy.
I don’t know who this woman is, but I think that she’s very cute.
Dress looks so cute on the model and looks really boring on her.
