Christina Ricci In Marchesa – 2010 Library Lions Benefit

Christina Ricci opted for a very interesting look at the 2010 Library Lions Benefit in New York City last night.

She wore a Marchesa Fall 2010 ensemble.

Her ensemble included a black cropped jacket which was paired with an ombre pleated pinwheel skirt.

I like this look a lot and I’m glad to see someone as bold as Christina wear it, because on someone less fearless this would’ve ended up looking like a waitress uniform.

Unfortunately the tights kinda ruin the look for me as they weigh down the look.

I don’t mind the black YSL pumps, but I loved the models pale embellished tights against the ombre skirt.

i LOVE this look. the tights weigh it down in the picture, but it looked PERFECT in person.

    She looks like a jellyfish

i’m with the minority in loving it. but christina can do almost no wrong with me.

I like the shoes and the tights better than the skirt. It looks as though her stomach exploding ruffles.

She does not look good. The model can barely carry the look and she’s 10 foot tall. Christina is too short for this look. I think it looks horrible on her. sorry.

I want to like this but I can’t get past the fact that it looks like her jacket is vomiting.

  7. SarahV November 2, 2010 at 15:55 #

I like the tights here… The dress reminds me of jellyfish though.

i also think she is a bit too short for such a heavy skirt. it looks smaller on the runway which i like more.

what an interesting dress! loss the tights and add on an interesting pair of heels

That skirt is quite hilarious, sorry, but it looks like a giant floral pistil 😉

Love this look on Ricci, she has this kooky sensibility that carries offf that design with a punch! Like you, I think it would have looked even more interesting worn without the black tights.

I think the black tights actually work in this case. The pale ones on the model are perfect for the pastel version of the dress, but I don’t mind the ones Christina is wearing.

The black tights are dreadful. They give this look a “Day of the Dead” feel that is horrible for such a fantastic look. What a shame. I really like the rest of the look.

I’m not fond of the skirt part. It looks like something is growing from her belly.

      Exactly what I thought!

Its a strqange look, she looks lovely, but overall the outfit leaves me cold, its just too elaborate for so tiny a girl.

I think she ruined it with the tights and the pumps. Not BDOTW worthy even though we love Christina.

  17. Marvel November 2, 2010 at 14:36 #

The tights are to be expected as we are now approaching winter so im guessing that we might have to see loads of ‘nice dress, shame about the tights’ looks

  18. nicky November 2, 2010 at 14:31 #

woulve looked perfect without the tights. love how she did her makeup and hair thouh

  19. Mitty November 2, 2010 at 14:22 #

less black please…it doesn¨t look good so!

  20. Terry November 2, 2010 at 14:14 #

You’re right: the tights ruin the look, because they make it so heavy-looking. It’s a pity, because the ensemble is lovely.

    • Mitty November 2, 2010 at 14:23 #

I absolutely agree, the tights destroys it!

  21. Shruti November 2, 2010 at 14:12 #

I think this is perfect from head to toe. Interesting, adorable, fun and sexy all at once. I really, really love this.

    • Rachel November 3, 2010 at 05:07 #

I guess we’re in the minority but I love this too. It’s something I would wear including the tights. I think it goes pretty perfectly with her compact frame.

  22. Hisadora November 2, 2010 at 14:09 #

God why did she do that? I hate to admit it but for me, the tights also ruin this look drastically. Sorry, CR.
