Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: October 2010

Yesterday Blake Lively was spotted on the set of Gossip Girl sporting an ensemble we’re not used to seeing on Serena van der Woodsen.

Her striped Band of Outsiders blazer, plaid shirt, Joie Buella plaid shorts and loose Brooks Brothers tie all scream school girl, which she accessorizes with wool tights, two tone Rag & Bone brogues and a Be & D Genesis satchel.

It’s not quite “Hit Me Baby One More Time”, but its enough to get male pulses racing.

I personally think that their is too much going on with the plaid, the stripes and the squares.

I’m sure it will look great on TV, but for now she looks ridiculous.

Eva Mendes attended the Environmental Media Awards in California going for a full on Hollywood glamorous look.

She wore an ivory Lela Rose brocade Spring 2011 dress fresh off the runway.

Her brocade full skirted dress looses some of it’s pouf off the runway, but this is quite common.

She surprisingly didn’t opt for black Casadei pumps because on this occasion they are navy which matched her navy Cesare Paciotti clutch.

Nice look, shame about the tan lines on her bust.

Being a Kardashian I would imagine it’s hard to stand out, so one has to try that much harder.

Kourtney Kardashian has been catching my eye recently as she “Takes New York” with her sisters, because she been sporting some very interesting head-wear.

The mother of one has been wearing two different types of turbans. The full hat and headband style.

I believe Kourtney’s bold fashion statement didn’t go down to well with her twitter followers because she defending herself saying, “Everyones hating my turban look…just having a little fashion fun in New York! It’s not that serious.”

Did she get inspiration from Style.com?

Turbans featured in many Spring 2011 runway shows.

In New York Jason Wu and Vena Cava presented models wearing turbans, as did Issa in London, Giorgio Armani in Milan and Andrew Gn sent models down the runway with a few variations of the turban in Paris.

Many would be skeptical about wearing a turban, but not Shala Monroque who’s been wears turbans as part of her everyday wardrobe.

This piece can be hard to pull off.

Blake Lively covered up on the red carpet at the Vertu Smartphone Launch Party in New York City last night.

The ‘Gossip Girl’ actress wore a burgundy Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2010 ruffled dress with black tights.

For a girl who’s used to walking the red carpet in barely-there mini dresses I’m very surprised to see her in tights despite the cold temperatures.

Like Cheryl Cole yesterday, Blake wore her cute dress with cropped leather jacket to toughen up her look.

She also added Christian Louboutin Fastissima velour booties.

This is not my favourite look, but Blake does look beautiful as always.

Cheryl Cole was spotted at BBC Radio One Studios in London this morning to promote her new single, “Promise This” and of course talk about her X Factor contestants.

Dressed for the Fall season Cheryl wore a Mulberry Fall 2010 leather jacket with a chain detail, J Brand jeans, shades plus Elizabeth and James lace-up Chucka heel booties.

She made is very clear that Cher is her favourite contestant in the interview saying: “She reminds me of a young me completely. Even the type of music she listens to, how she performs.”

The difference for me is that I can’t see Cher growing out of that chavvy behaviour which Cheryl managed to do so well.
