Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: October 2010

After featuring Janet Jackson and Thandie Newton at the “For Colored Girls” New York Premiere, here are the rest of the stunning looks which hit the red carpet.

Kerry Washington wore a charming Missoni print maxi dress with a complementary gold clutch.

I remember when I saw the Adam Spring 2011 presentation during New York Fashion Week, I said that the one piece which stood out was the red leather dress.

I guess it also stood out for Veronica Webb – who was front row at the presentation – because she wore the red leather dress last night with nude strappy sandals.

Ciara wore a Carven taffeta dress with super sexy Christian Louboutin leopard print ankle booties.

With her hair swept to one side to show off her green earrings, Tessa Thompson looked beautiful wearing a Versus Fall 2010 bustier dress with a velvet skirt which she paired with Rene Caovilla Swarovski crystal embellished sandals.

Anika Noni Rose added plenty of colour to the red carpet wearing an orange and gold embroidered dress with sexy gold strappy sandals.

I love the colour and style of Estelle’s new ‘do. This could be my Spring 2011 look.

The British singer wore a reptile print Alexander McQueen jacket with tapered leather pants, black pointy pumps and a Swarovski necklace.

Bryce Dallas Howard has been hitting the red carpet a lot recently and giving us some stunning looks.

At the 14th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala last night she wore a Reem Acra Spring 2011 dress.

Her bustier watercolour dress with gold embroidered details is gorgeous, but it’s very Taylor Swift, Elle Fanning, Selena Gomez-esqe.

It doesn’t quite work for me on Bryce unfortunately, but that’s more to do with my perception of who this dress was made for rather than the dress itself.

Some of you might find this quite plain and boring, but the reason why Thandie suits Calvin Klein so well is because her striking beauty shines through her minimalist look.

The British actress wore this grey open back Calvin Klein Spring 2011 dress on the red carpet for the New York Premiere of “For Colored Girls” last night.

Like Diane Kruger, Thandie doesn’t need much else to make this dress look good.

Calvin Klein strappy sandals, that gorgeous face and a gold stack of bracelets were all that was needed.

Impossibly beautiful.

Normally it takes me a while to start loving drastic hair colour changes on actresses, but I fell in love Jessica Biel’s darker ‘do straight away.

After her greasy phase of 2008/9, I’m all for change when it comes to Biel.

This colour makes her look more sophisticated and elegant.

It looks like A listers are moving away from the ombre trend already.

Last night in LA, the Glamour Reel Moments event celebrated Jessica Biel, Eva Mendes and Rachel Weisz’ directorial debuts at the Directors Guild of America.

Jessica looked very chic wearing an Oscar de la Renta Resort 2011 ensemble.

Her look included a black lace and crinkle chiffon ruffled short sleeve blouse, paired with a black lace flutter skirt which has an embroidered waistband.

Exposed bras don’t really work for me, but I’m not hugely put off by it on this occasion.

Black peep-toes and a Ferragamo clutch complete the look.

My first thought when I saw Carey Mulligan in this Giles Resort 2011 dress at the 14th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala was, “How can Shia LaBeouf end his relationship with Carey when she’s 5 months pregnant?”

Her maroon draped Giles dress is incredibly unflattering, but I’m hoping it’s just the angle of the photo.

Either way me no likey as the dress does nothing for her.

A matching maroon clutch and violet Roger Vivier peep-toes complete this forgettable look.
