Thandie Newton In Calvin Klein – “For Colored Girls” New York Premiere

Some of you might find this quite plain and boring, but the reason why Thandie suits Calvin Klein so well is because her striking beauty shines through her minimalist look.

The British actress wore this grey open back Calvin Klein Spring 2011 dress on the red carpet for the New York Premiere of “For Colored Girls” last night.

Like Diane Kruger, Thandie doesn’t need much else to make this dress look good.

Calvin Klein strappy sandals, that gorgeous face and a gold stack of bracelets were all that was needed.

Impossibly beautiful.

Took my breath away – LOVE.

The dress on Thandie looks longer than the runway version.
I am on the fence, but I’m leaning towards boring.

No matter how gorgeous the woman is, and how beautiful her gown is, side boob will NEVER be classy. Completely ruins it for me.

It looks like a pinafore. Agree with those above about the side cleavage. Not nice. That aside, she is a natural beauty.

I think Thandie is a beautiful woman but I never have been and never will be a fan of side boob. It just ain’t classy. Sorry FC 🙁

I don’t like this look. First of all we can see her breasts, which doesn’t make her look vulgar, anyway, because she isn’t at all. I don’t like the length of the dress and I don’t like the sandals. Perfect look for lunch not for a premiere. For the record, Valeria Mazza has been testimonial for a brand of cosmetics but during an interview for a tv channel she had expensive moisturizers in her beauty-case. Do you believe that L’Orèal testimonials use L’Orèal products that you can buy in a supermarket?

She is stunning, one of the most natural women in Hollywood but I really dislike this look. Dislike the dress, the length and hate the side cleavage!

  8. mikeijames October 27, 2010 at 08:10 #

it’s really amazing just how frequently she looks so perfect…..and in SO MANY different looks. kudos to her for making it all look so effortless.

  9. Hisadora October 27, 2010 at 03:18 #

It is just far from being a boring look. When you are this gorgeous why don’t wear a dress like this? she’s perfection 🙂

It takes beauty and elegance to look this stunning in such a simplistic dress. Not many girls possess both, but Thandie does. She’s underrated. If only there weren’t so many dim-wit movie goers and she could get better roles. I loved her in Rock n Rolla.

  11. asherlev1 October 27, 2010 at 00:46 #

I probably would have loved this, because Thandie really *does* always look great…but the side boob kills it.

  12. Marvel October 27, 2010 at 00:08 #

Its boring but lets her beauty shine throw

  13. Sharon October 26, 2010 at 23:51 #

I really dislike the side cleavage, but otherwise she looks gorgeous as always.

  14. moja31 October 26, 2010 at 22:59 #

i love the color, but i’m not in love with the length.

  15. Gretta October 26, 2010 at 22:18 #

She has the best skin in Hollywood, she really does. Would have shortened the dress a natz so it’s a proper 3/4 length.

  16. Lee Ann October 26, 2010 at 22:02 #

She is stunning and would look wonderful in gray sackcloth. Oh she is wearing it.

    • Manja October 27, 2010 at 13:49 #

      ditto that-:)))))

  17. Gaber October 26, 2010 at 21:43 #

    She’s stunning.
    Despite the dress.

    • Elaine October 26, 2010 at 22:30 #

      Agree completely!

  18. Sash October 26, 2010 at 21:34 #

She makes it look sooo easy!! Like she just woke up and put on the dress and walked the red carpet.

  19. LUCY GOOSY October 26, 2010 at 21:23 #

I would have shorted the hem 1 ½” to 2” to fit Thandie Newton 5 2”/5 3” height and my work is done.

  20. From Russia With Love October 26, 2010 at 21:21 #

    Best dressed of the week.

  21. Naomi October 26, 2010 at 20:39 #

I’m not crazy about this look. The dress makes her seem very broad-shouldered and I really don’t dig the side-boob.

  22. Hannah October 26, 2010 at 20:21 #

I love this look, and i loe Thandie’s simplicity, but I really hope we getmroe colour during this promotion tour.
And yes, she is impossibly beautiful. I need to switch to olay pronto.

    • Fashion Critic October 26, 2010 at 20:24 #

I want a bucket load of Olay 🙂

  23. Rebecca October 26, 2010 at 20:17 #

    Don’t love the side cleavage.

  24. Tamia October 26, 2010 at 20:17 #

#sigh# what could have been, really not feeling this I wish she has worn either Fendi or luisa beccaria as she always looks great in their designs. She still looks beautiful but the dress has no wow factor and is no a red carpet look. That said if she FINALLY gets her long overdue oscar nomination this year I can’t wait to see what she wears then!

  25. dee October 26, 2010 at 20:07 #

I like it. It’s understated and sexy.

  26. mol October 26, 2010 at 19:53 #

If only it had been a bit shorter, I would have loved this unequivocally…..still, it’s awful damn fine!

  27. Jasmine October 26, 2010 at 19:12 #

beautiful, but am not crazy about the side cleavage.

    • Rachie October 26, 2010 at 22:14 #

I’m with you! I can see her boobs! Not good!

    • KateS October 28, 2010 at 05:10 #

Yes! Thandie is always beautiful, but side boob, never.

  28. Jarrold October 26, 2010 at 19:08 #

This look is amazing! I love when actresses don’t have to do much but look STUNNING

  29. Ethne Blist October 26, 2010 at 19:05 #

I’m so glad Julianne Moore didn’t get her hands on this before Thandie because on her its not boring, but it lost its skimmer/shininess from the runway.
