Blake Lively covered up on the red carpet at the Vertu Smartphone Launch Party in New York City last night.
The ‘Gossip Girl’ actress wore a burgundy Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2010 ruffled dress with black tights.
For a girl who’s used to walking the red carpet in barely-there mini dresses I’m very surprised to see her in tights despite the cold temperatures.
Like Cheryl Cole yesterday, Blake wore her cute dress with cropped leather jacket to toughen up her look.
She also added Christian Louboutin Fastissima velour booties.
This is not my favourite look, but Blake does look beautiful as always.

How to Achieve the Classic Blowout

I rather like seeing an edgier side to Blake. Quite a departure from her usual va-va-voom
I don’t like this look. She should have worn it like the runway! NOOOOO! Stockings? Seriously?
I absolutely love the color of this dress.
The jacket on a loose dress makes Blake’s mid-section very wide.
i think she looks adorable–kind of casual and impulsive, but it totally works for me.
I agree!! She’s beautiful.
You said it so right FC, she does look beautiful as always, always, always.
I like it. The colour is great and yes…beautiful as always. There is just one strip of cloth that’s hanging a little awkwardly in the front. Other than that I kinda love the look.
she?beautiful!!!she is very ugly
Its so odd not seeing her boobs or legs.
I hate when people try to toughen up a cute little dress with a leather jacket. I don’t know why the dress can’t just stand out on its own.
Oh yeah, I prefer the runway version. Her version is not as cute.
I love it! The colour is strong enough to carry all the black accessories. I wish she was standing against a lighter backdrop so I could see more details.
I love this look! It is part edgy part girly. I love the leather with the ruffles and the preppiness of the tights. The interplay of texture and volume through the ruffles, leather and fit of the cropped jacket also make it a winner for me.
I prefer the runway color, with the jacket the dress seems a curtain.
I don’t love the look, but the additions make me like it more than I would’ve. The color change and jacket really enhance the look. I’m still deciding on the tights, but this may be the very rare occasion where I like them.
this is exactly how dior should be worn.
She’s gorgeous and this is something I would absolutely wear on a night out (ok, maybe not opaque tights), but on the red carpet it looks a bit boring, no?
I love the burgundy color, but I wish she had stuck to the runway look. The Louboutin booties are beautiful, but I much prefer the shoes on the model.
