I have only one word to describe them: UGLY.

These are trendy. Think: do these have the longevity that Louboutin booties have??? No.

  4. Jeremy October 20, 2010 at 16:13 #

Good luck on Kim Kardashian not breaking her ankle for this. Although I’d love to see her falls flat on her gigantic ass. That would be amazing!

  5. Shruti October 20, 2010 at 16:35 #

Truly hideous. You actually feel like reaching out and yanking the gold thingis off and then just burning them. Blech!

  6. nicolette October 20, 2010 at 16:37 #

totally unflattering. congratulations to the designer for the efforts, but please no….

Look like a slightly more wearable (i still wouldn’t) version of the Alexander McQueen shoes. Don’t like them at all.

  8. dee October 20, 2010 at 16:55 #

Terrible. They do nothing for the feet or legs..

  9. dressaddict October 20, 2010 at 18:18 #

Hate them. The same hate I have for those Armadillo McQueen heels…

  10. robbie October 20, 2010 at 18:20 #

my guess is the designer is blind, or atleast i am truly hoping that is the case these are one of the most hideous shoes i have seen.

    They look like lobster claws…

  13. carmen October 20, 2010 at 19:56 #

Clearly not a shoe everyone can pull off … I must say Solange definitely made them work!

  14. Bunnie October 20, 2010 at 20:21 #

Sexual fetish gear, just like most of the woman-hating footwear designers are foisting on us these days. Frederick’s of Hollywood wouldn’t have been able to sell these to hookers.

    How Fugly!!!!

  17. Moxie October 20, 2010 at 22:38 #

    Ugly. Scary. Painful.

  18. Gretta October 20, 2010 at 22:43 #

I swear to god, take one watermelon. Scoop out the pulp so there is space for a foot. With sticky tape, carefully attach a stapler for a heel, call it “trendy” and I GUARANTEE it, some poor celebrity will be trotting down a red carpet in ‘The Melon Shoes’ by Christmas.

Clearly inspired by the Armadillo shoes. Slightly more wearable. I think they’re great, but I don’t think that fashion must always be pretty. Sometimes funky, different, and even ugly can be wild fun.

I like ’em, but it takes a lot of charisma and confidence to pull off something like that.

  20. Linda October 21, 2010 at 02:24 #

My first thought was ew, hideous, but I’m starting to not mind them on Solange.

  21. mochababe73 October 21, 2010 at 04:08 #

Pretty to look at and nice to hold. But, I wouldn’t wear them with a ten foot pole.
Off topic, Solange looks a boiling, hot mess.

Ugly, attention-seeking ridiculousness. Notice the women wearing these are of a type…

    • Fashion Critic October 21, 2010 at 09:52 #

      extremely good point

  23. Emi October 21, 2010 at 08:51 #

Maybe the ugliest shoes of the world, very unflattering. Maybe without that ridiculous plateau they would be just ugly. Shoes shouldn’t be so dangerous, Armadillo are closer to a piece of art, in a certain way, I mean A. McQueen was a real genius. These shoes are simply ridiculous. I totally agree with Gretta’s comment.

  24. Chaufforest October 21, 2010 at 09:35 #

Wow this is Nasty. Is this what they come up with when they run out of ideas ?…and poor celebrities fall for anything….Lol

  25. Gaber October 21, 2010 at 10:53 #

It’s quite insane how much I LOVE these shoes when they aren’t worn.
But as soon as somebody puts them on – you realise how insanely unflattering they are.

It’s one of those things that I’d just put on a shelf somewhere and just look at them because of how intriguing they are, but at the same time, forbid anyone from actually wearing them.

  26. Ling October 21, 2010 at 15:55 #

Wish those shoes were never been designed.

  27. Roseto January 26, 2012 at 15:39 #

these shoes are truly amazing. Iris Van Harpen, is not just Alexander McQueens replacement, her incredible designs are projections of the future!
And shes so young! and authentic. her designs are not fit to be worn around you guys, you cant look at them the way you look at louboutins. they are art works.
