Matthew Williamson Book Launch Party – Sienna Miller In Matthew Williamson

Sienna Miller supported her designer pal Matthew Williamson at his book launch party which was held at Somerset House in London yesterday.

The Brit actress hosted the event and wrote the forward for the book.

She of course wore a Matthew Williamson dress fresh from the Spring 2011 runway.

I love the electric blue dress on the runway, but I feel the dress slightly overwhelms Sienna tiny frame.

As the host I get she wanted something more dramatic and different from her usual look, but it’s not really working for me.

Does it work for you?

No. The dress is for a taller girl and the hair looks awfull. It’s a shame though, because the dress is gorgeous. But not on her.

I agree. The floppy dress is paired with hideous hair :(

she looks sloppy! Or maybe the dress requires movement. I loved the multicolored dress, the last look form this collection. I hope no one ruins that one.

Sienna usually looks perfect but don’t you think the straps look slightly like stray party confetti that fluttered onto her outfit by accident? It just doen’t add to the dress overall although the electric blue is great, its very Matthew Williamson!

Don’t like it on her, sorry ):

I don’t think this dress even works for the model. It’s waist widening.

    • mol October 13, 2010 at 17:54 #

For sure – waist widening whoever wears it

      • Ingrid October 13, 2010 at 19:15 #

        so agree

But on the runway with the hair on the back and the movement it’s better than on Sienna who looks like she’s bored in that dress. Plus, her hair are messy.

So true. It’ll make even the thinnest person look wide and a little sloppy. On Sienna it’s a disaster. It looks like she just got out of bed and didn’t bother to put any makeup on too.

I feel like her pose, facial expression, hair says “yeah, I know I don’t look good.”

NO, don’t Sienna! She normally looks perfect but the model of the dress makes her look very wide. Love the color, though. But the rest…

  8. cindy October 13, 2010 at 18:16 #

I’m dazzled by the beautiful color but WHAT THE FIT?? It looks really bad on her unfortunately.
It widens her and her hair is really blah…

  9. Polina October 13, 2010 at 18:25 #

I love Sienna’s style but no on this occasion. She makes so few style mistakes so I think this can be forgiven:)

Nevertheless I love how she looks because it was my favourite gown from this collection.

  11. Claudia October 13, 2010 at 18:39 #

I believe she’s even looking fat.. which I thought would never be possible for her..
I really didn’t like this dress.. but I love the color

If her intention was to spark pregnancy rumours then she looks amazing…

Personification of the term ‘parachute dress’ Her hairlooks like it just went through a tornado too.

  14. mochababe73 October 13, 2010 at 19:31 #

No. I detest Sienna’s style. Her whole schtick (bohemian/don’t care) doesn’t resonate in this dress.
The dress is too big. Her hair looks as though she hasn’t used a comb in over a week. Sienna looks horrible.
Amazing how a person can bring down a beautiful dress.

  15. robbie October 13, 2010 at 19:35 #

looks like she just grabbed a curtain and wrapped it around her. really really ugly dress.

plus the girl needs to do something with her god damn hair!

  16. dee October 13, 2010 at 22:12 #

This is awful. It looks like she took some blue fabric draped it around herself with some belts. It has no shape.

  17. Sharon October 13, 2010 at 22:17 #

All she needs is a spear in her hand and a double-horned Viking helmet on her head and she could join the company of any Wagnerian opera. This is a hard dress to understand, even on the runway, and on Sienna, it’s mystifying.

  18. Marvel October 13, 2010 at 23:46 #

The dress needs to be A LOT more fitted for the dress to work.

  19. Giuseppi October 13, 2010 at 23:48 #

I don’t care for this- too shapeless on her

  20. moja31 October 14, 2010 at 05:06 #

it’s an awful look, but the thing that bugs me the most is that she’s beyond overdressed for a book launch.

  21. nicky October 14, 2010 at 07:36 #

not a good look at all. the dress is unflattering in the first place…looks really cheap in my opinion

  22. wilwarin October 14, 2010 at 07:58 #

for me this is just one blah look… the dress is shapless, it has beautiful colour but besides that it does nothing in my opinion.

    Q. How do you make Sienna Miller look frumpy
    A. This Matthew Williamson dress.

Never thought i would see the day that I would be able to use the word frumpy alongside Sienna AND a Matthew Williamson creation! WTF?

    • jkrau October 15, 2010 at 01:35 #

YES! Seriously is Sienna doing okay? This makes me worried… she literally looks like she rolled out of bed and put on this beautiful-quality but horrendously-fitted gown and forgot makeup, hair, accessories…

The simple-chic looks does not mean just NOT DOING ANYTHING…. wow….

  24. Emi October 14, 2010 at 14:41 #

She didn’t pull it off, I don’t even like the dress, honestly.

  25. Ayesha October 16, 2010 at 06:44 #

    hate it!!!
