2010 London Film Festival: “Never Let Me Go” Photocall – Carey Mulligan In Proenza Schouler

Carey Mulligan attended the 2010 London Film Festival “Never Let Me Go” Photocall in the West End this lunchtime.

She looked radiant wearing a mustard pleated Proenza Schouler dress with black trims including a black belt.

I love the whole look and I don’t even mind her black YSL pumps.

The dress is a very pretty colour for her.

Like her co-star Keira Knightley, Carey sported some some mini waves in her hair and she also added a simple hair accessory.

I think both girls looked good. I was happy to see them having fun on the red carpet.

It reminds me of the time when Keira and Sienna Miller were inseparable on the red carpet during their promo tour for “The Edge Of Love.”

I like the dress on her. I love her hair now that it’s growing out.
What I don’t like is her posture or her personality in this dress. She looks kind of slouchy and has a “I don’t feel like being bothered” look on her face.
    Just one woman’s opinion.

I LOVE this look, head to toe. According to JJ she’s wearing Prabal Gurung (:

Unfortunately he is wrong on this occasion, which is very rare

Although she looks very pretty, the unhappy hesitant look and posture just don’t help her……

    OMG, this is GORGEOUS!!!

    You think she looks radiant????
She looks deadly ill! She looks like she’s going to drop any second! The color is not working for her, makes her complexion sickening…

    • G October 13, 2010 at 19:24 #

I agree. It’s a pity, because I love the colour and the dress itself, but it just doesn’t work too well with her skin tone. A bit death warmed-up.

    • Moxie October 13, 2010 at 19:43 #

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe it is just the lighting in the picture or the pale make-up, but she looks deathly pale here.

      • Linda October 14, 2010 at 01:38 #

Yeah, I think it’s just the lighting. I prefer to think that, because I like the look otherwise.

    • jkrau October 15, 2010 at 01:37 #

I have to agree… sorry FC but “radiant” is the last word I would use here… walking zombie more like?

  9. Camila October 13, 2010 at 18:26 #

I love the dress, but it doesn’t fit her at all.
I mean, she looks pale, sick.. I don’t know.. and her hair.. ugh.

    Stunning. The colour, the cut.

Carey’s dress is by Proenza Schouler. Pre-Spring 2011 in particular.

    • Fashion Critic October 13, 2010 at 19:36 #

thanks I saw it on twitter Proenza Schouler

I love it ! The color of the dress is beautiful on her skin and goes perfect with her hair too.

Like you I’m not a fan of those YSL heels, but on this case, they’re perfect.

The dress, hair, shoes, etc., are all fine, but maybe she needs a Red Carpet Buddy to make her more relaxed during these photos. She almost always looks like she’s standing in front of a firing squad which ruins whatever she’s wearing, IMO.

    • Fashion Critic October 13, 2010 at 21:22 #

      lol @ firing squad

      • Alicat October 14, 2010 at 14:08 #

Perfect description of her posture and the look on her face.

She often looks like this on the red carpet and for photo calls. Maybe she thinks of it as a “style” but I find it quite irritating.

No matter what she wears, she looks like a doll. Literally.

I envy her hair and the fact that she can pull it off. The curls are adorable.

The colour of the dress goes perfectly with her skintone I think. I love the emphasized waist and the 60s vibe to the dress!

  15. Marvel October 13, 2010 at 23:46 #

I LOVE the colour and i dont mind the pumps as they compliment the detail on the dress

  16. nicky October 14, 2010 at 07:37 #

she looks adorable. i really like how carey doesnt dress like a 30 year old. she seems to be gradually getting more comfortable with her style and having fun with it…

  17. wilwarin October 14, 2010 at 08:03 #

i’m nut usually fan of this colour but on Carey it looks divine… and i think she really glows in it.

  18. Gaber October 14, 2010 at 10:41 #

I absolutely love the idea behind this look, but it ended up looking ghastly.
Other pictures from this event show how poorly she looked with because of the extra volume this dress added to her waist. It’s a really unflattering dress.

  19. Emi October 14, 2010 at 14:43 #

First of all I don’t like the color of the dress, which is cute. She looks like an ectoplasm.

  20. Sherene October 17, 2010 at 18:36 #

I like to dress but thinks that she looks pale. The Color would pop if she had a darker skin tone.

She is actually wearing Prabal Gurung (at least that’s what she told me herself during the interview I had with her that day).

    • Fashion Critic January 26, 2011 at 13:22 #

she was wrong. actresses often don’t know the designer of who they are wearing.
