Another day, another WWIB? poll featuring Gemma Arterton.
The British actress wore this breath-taking Valentino Pre-Fall 2010 strapless ballgown when she arrived on the red carpet for the “Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time” World Premiere in London back in May.
She let her embellished gown do the talking as she didn’t add many other jewels, just simple studded diamond earrings and a silver ring.
Son Ye Jin – who was your Best Dressed last week – wore the same gown to the opening ceremony of the 15th Pusan Film Festival in South Korea last week.
The Asian star also kept her look simple, but her rings were more dramatic.
It was a very hard choice, but in the end I picked Gemma mostly because she’s taller, therefore her skirt doesn’t look as crushed as Son Ye Jin’s. Also I love her red lippie.

I’d give this to Gemma, simply because half the time she looks like a hot mess but on the rare occasion when she does shine, she’s brilliant.
Both ladies look stunning. I prefer the darker colour of Son Ye Jin’s gown, but the paler colour suits Gemma Arterton’s skin tone. It’s a dead heat for me!
Son Je Yin by a MILE!!!!!!!!!!!! Beautiful woman and she wears it SO well. Gemma is too pale to pull off such a dress! Son Ye Jin!
i love how polished gemma’s hair is. son ye jin’s isn’t, in comparison so i’m going to have to vote gemma. and that red lippy is perfect
I love Gemma’s red lip, but that with the harsh hair takes away the innocence from the gown. Son Je Yin looks breathtaking and innocent at the same time.. and that is one desirable combination!!
gemma looks washed out and the red lips and tight pulled back hair looks too severe for such a delicate looking dress. i prefer son ye jin because the loose updo with tendrils framing her face gives her a softer look. also i much prefer the champaign color of her dress.
i agree with you, and also just because gemma is taller doesn’t give her an edge. there are always so many references to height on this site!
what’s so wrong with that?
If height wasn’t an issue in fashion why is the height requirement for a model at least 5ft 9″????
I positive I won’t get a response
well here is your response…:)
fc, you know i love you, and we know the said height requirement for modeling is 5 foot 9 inches…and yet kate moss is a top supermodel and she is definitely below 5 foot 9 inches. looking good is all about proportions, not height. someone can be 6 foot 3 inches, and still look horrible if they don’t have presence and if they don’t dress for their proportions. we know you’re tall, and that’s great…but references to height don’t need to be made in every single blog post. but anyway this is your blog, and i love reading it so i can put up with your height hangup
Son Ye Jin’s hair is moppy compaired the Gemma’s prim hair and porcelain featured face. Gemma looks more like a faerie princess to me.
I prefer Son Ye Jin, but the race is very tight… I actually don’t really like the harsh lips on Gemma’s….
I prefer Son Ye Jin. I always thought that Gemma’s dress color looked dirty.
that Gemma Arterton’s hair and lips seem too severe for the dreamy dress…. but that’s just based on this particular photo, so maybe in others she doesn’t look so harsh. Son Ye Jin looks more like a person wearing a dress from the way that she’s posed and her smile in her photo. Gemma Arterton may as well be a mannequin.
Re the height thing, I actually think Son Ye Jin’s shorter height gives her advantage in this dress as the dress has a more interesting textural look around the bottom where parts of it hit the ground, rather than just hanging there.
Taylor Swift is wearing this dress in her new album’s booklet.
