Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Carey Mulligan is the October 2010 cover girl for American Vogue.

Grace Coddington styled the Peter Lindbergh shoot which sees Carey wearing Chanel, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Armani Privé and Valentino Couture Fall 2010 looks, plus a Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière peony-print jacquard dress and a Nina Ricci silk-tulle-and-lace dress with velvet sash.

Carey has two movies due for release soon. “Never Let Me Go” and “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps”, but she’d love to star in “Glee”.

Unfortunately she’s been told she’s not famous enough yet. Maybe her new films will change all that.

Despite being quite petite Carey complained that her Couture wardrobe was too small even for her.

Here are some extracts from her interview with her stunning Couture editorial below.

On attending events with Shia LaBeouf: “Posing on the red carpet feels like you’re selling something that has nothing to do with you. If you do it with someone else, it’s like we’re saying, ‘Oh! We come as a pair! Would you like to buy both of us? We’re available for weddings and Bar Mitzvahs!” Read more…

The gorgeous Eva Mendes showed her support for PETA when she attended their 30th Anniversary Gala at the Hollywood Palladium in LA recently.

Her simple yet beautiful Lanvin cranberry silk gown with grosgrain waistband is a delightful colour against her caramel skin.

This proves to Eva that not dressing sexy doesn’t have to equal boring.

She accessorized with a black clutch and black Casadei peep-toe pumps.

We had a world preview of the new Roberto Cavalli ‘Diva’ Bag during the Roberto Cavalli Spring 2011 runway show on Monday.

Taylor Swift, Rachel Bilson and Natalia Vodianova were all spotted carrying the bag before the show.

The ‘Diva’ bag which will launch in stores and online this November will come in three sizes and seven materials ranging from denim to python to pony leather with Jaguar or Zebra print.

Do you see this being the new ‘IT’ bag of the summer?

I love Rachel’s and Natalia’s bags.

Lee Na Young was in Seoul this week to promote her new drama, “Fugitive Plan B”.

The beautiful Asian actress wore a sleeveless Chanel Resort 2011 mini shift dress which had black and pink stripes and white embroidered details.

She wore her dress without any jewels, but added a deep rouge colour to her lips.

This is a perfect press conference dress and I’m glad she kept the look simple.

Her look was paired with Chanel ankle booties.

Can someone please bring back the old Cameron Diaz.

The ‘new’ Cameron fails to excite me.

She joined Tom Cruise on the red carpet for the Tokyo Premiere of “Knight And Day” yesterday.

Her Bottega Veneta turtleneck dress has to be the most uninteresting look she’s given us for the promo tour for this movie.

I guess since the movie isn’t doing so well the budget for her red carpet looks has rapidly decreased hence a boring turtleneck dress.

Who wears a turtleneck to a premiere anyway?

The only thing saving this look from putting me in sleeply coma are her Jimmy Choo ‘Lavish’ sandals.

Ana Álvarez looked like an angel at the 2010 San Sebastian Film Festival Closing Ceremony this weekend.

The Spanish actress glowed on the red carpet wearing a beige Christian Dior Spring 2010 gown.

Her off-the-shoulder sheer gown with embroidered details was worn with a shorter beige dress underneath.

The gown may have been heavily watered down from the runway, but I much prefer Ana’s version.

It more elegant and not a brash as the runway version which I don’t think many could easily pull off.

Which do you prefer?

The runway or the red carpet version?
