Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: September 2010

The Mary Katrantzou Spring 2011 presentation is still my favourite from London Fashion Week, so I was excited to see one of her dresses on the red carpet.

Rosamund Pike wore this colourful Mary Katrantzou Fall 2010 dress to the “Made In Dagenham” London Premiere last night.

The British actress would’ve stood out on the red carpet in her one-cap sleeve dress with a trademark vibrant print.

Thankfully she paired her interesting dress with interesting heels, opting for purple metallic satin Nicholas Kirkwood heels with a bronze pearl platform.

Last week Cate Blanchett was promoting SK-II at Park Hyatt Beijing, China.

The Australian actress wore a bordeaux jersey draped Lanvin dress with black pumps and a stack of gold bracelets.

Julia Roberts wore the same dress in a petrol blue colour to the ‘Mange, Prie et Aime’ (Eat, Pray, Love) Paris Premiere on Sunday.

Lanvin snake-skin pumps and Iradj bracelets completed her look.

I love the dress on both women, but I’ll go for Cate as my winner because I love the colour and she allowed the dress to drape naturally whereas Julia added a belt.

Antonio Berardi’s Spring 2011 collection was toned down from the uber sexy dresses he normally presents.

On this occasion everything was more ethereal and romantic.

This was never more evident on the rose bud appliqués which adorned the designs creating a feminine feel.

If you are still looking for a sexy dress from Berardi, he did present some fitted LBDs with cut out or plunging necklines.

The colour palette included fuschia pink, baby pink, black, white, silver and khaki green.

I loved the details and the stand out colours in this splendid collection.

Front Row: David Gandy and Anna Dello Russo

Favourites: Pink rise and fall dress with a silver cropped jacket and mini fuschia pink dress with rose bud appliqués.

Who I See Wearing This Collection: Gwyneth Paltrow, Kyra Sedgwick, Victoria Beckham, Katie Cassidy, Ginnifer Goodwin, Taylor Swift, Sandra Bullock, Diane Kruger and Kate Walsh

Christina Hendricks was front row at the Carolina Herrera Spring 2011 show during New York Fashion Week.

With that in mind we shouldn’t be surprised to see her a few days later arriving at the “Devil” LA premiere wearing a dress from Carolina Herrera’s Pre-Fall 2010 collection.

As much as I love prints, this dress is way too busy for Christina and it’s not working with her colouring.

The dress does nothing for her fabulous figure, but at least the twins aren’t spilling out.

What do you think?

Gemma Arterton is still making this ‘no fuss’ chic minimalist look work for her.

She attended her “Tamara Drewe” Premiere during the 2010 Toronto Film Festival this weekend looking sensation wearing a Lanvin strapless jumpsuit.

Once again she opted for fresh barely-there make-up and no jewels with black pumps and a black clutch.

My only problem with this look is that I wish the pants had been more fitted.

Other than that this is another great look for Gemma.
