SK-II Event – Cate Blanchett In Louis Vuitton

The Internet at my hotel has been temperamental and super slow, so sorry for the lack of updates.

In order for you to forgive me, I knew I had bring you some Cate Blanchett red carpet magic.

The Australian actress was recently in Beijing, China to promote SK-II.

One of the many looks from during this promotional tour was a head-to-toe Louis Vuitton Fall 2010 look.

I can’t think of a single other person who could pull off this look.

What I love most is how nipped in Cate’s waist is without the belt.

I like this look but I cant help but feel that the top is too restricting.

  3. Joy September 24, 2010 at 12:51 #

    Perfection!

I like the idea, but the top doesn’t sit well. She looks like she has no neck.

Agreed. A very cute look, but the turtle neck is not working for her here.

        Ditto

wow…so regal….I love it! Is this going to be best dressed of the year n.2???:D

  6. Fashiondoesntexist September 24, 2010 at 13:18 #

Initially i love the look, than I thinkt hat on the runway the dress were better!! however if she chose some different shoes, more particular, the outfit would be different!

I lvoe everything about it but the neckline, I appreciate that it is a hard top to wear, but Rihannae ten Haken (I think) has more neck showing. I can’t help but wonder how divine an LV corset would ahve looked.

Ohh I don’t like this. She looks like an over-starched school marm. Even her posture is like that.

  9. Vidhya September 24, 2010 at 13:48 #

such a good look except that her shoulders looks hunched.. but anyone who ca pull off the louis vuitton odd length skirts should be saluted

  10. mohamed majid September 24, 2010 at 14:20 #

she looks like a fresh breath of air.. so perfect.. she never lets me down.. love her from head to toe in the LV..

i love this on her, expect it really does seem like she has no neck. maybe if the collar was a tiny bit lower? then i think it would have been amazing on cate

  12. anu September 24, 2010 at 14:51 #

    cate is a goddess!

  13. mochababe73 September 24, 2010 at 15:02 #

I like the concept, but she looks as though the dress is choking her. I am glad that she didn’t wear the belt.

I like it, I want to love it but it’s that top that just doesn’t do it for me. It makes her look so stiff and a bit awkwardly posed. It’s not her fault though, and she works the silhouette really well. I’ve found that quite a few celebs who have worn a full LV look from the fall collection end up looking as though they’re playing at being a grown up. Cate just has that enviable poise to make this look completely natural. I think maybe I do love it after all.

    Classic, elegant.

  16. Nikki September 24, 2010 at 17:21 #

As usual, Cate Blanchett looks absolutely beautiful and elegant. I agree that I can’t think of anyone else who can pull off this look.

  17. Lee Ann September 24, 2010 at 18:17 #

    Perfection,

I love it–especially the skirt length, which I find elegant and flattering–but I wonder if the bottom of the top is as full and furry as the top. If so, it’s amazing you can’t detect it tucked into that skirt.

I love Cate – she can do no wrong style wise in my eyes.

  20. GRACE September 25, 2010 at 09:43 #

Is it just me, or is this silhouette similar to the vintage gown she wore earlier? The neck- and waist-lines, plus the sleeves.

However I agree with other comments that the turtleneck here looks rather restricting… That said, only Cate could pull this off the way she did!

  21. Ayesha September 25, 2010 at 13:12 #

    CLASSY!!
but the style is so similar to her previous look(except that it’s not long),including her posture!

  22. Lou September 26, 2010 at 23:33 #

I feel she’s the only person I’ve seen so far wearing this length of skirt and successfully pulls it off. She looks great!
