Who Was Your Best Dressed This Week?

Phew!!! What a week.

Thanks for all your comments and your patience whilst I was running between shows.

By the time you read this I will already be on a plane home back to London, so see you on the other side.

Can I please ask for you to vote via the Lanvin for H&M widget in the side bar for my site to show an exclusive trailer of the collection. I’m currently 20th so keep voting.

FC – You have been aaaamazing this week. Thanks so much for the wonderful NYFW coverage. :) Now go take a nap!

There were a lot of great looks this week, but Cate is just too stunning for words.

    • Fashion Critic September 17, 2010 at 23:42 #

      In my eyes

I’ve voted for you @ H&M contest. I hope you will win ’cause this blog deserves so much the prize!

Will you be going to Milan? I’ll be at marni.

  5. Ev September 18, 2010 at 00:02 #

Clearly, Cate is beyound competition. So instead I voted for Alexis Bledel. She really amazed me this week. Although, I have to admit, I was struggling between her, Leighton Meester and Carey Mulligan. Wow, what a great week it was!

    • mari September 18, 2010 at 01:59 #

I did too!! Why bother to vote for CAte when she’s already won?
Alexis is on a roll and has improved a lot. I liked the red Chanel Blake was wearing, but it needed a bra, or should have been the other pic with the jacket on to look much better.
      Tnx FC!!

      • Fashion Critic September 18, 2010 at 08:45 #

        My pleasure

    • Anissa September 18, 2010 at 04:01 #

      Exactly. I feel the same.

  6. Linda September 18, 2010 at 00:15 #

Had to give it to Cate, clearly the winner! BUT – Alexis Bleidel if Cate weren’t competition, would have been the winner, with Carey Mulligan a close second.

  7. Hisadora September 18, 2010 at 00:17 #

I went with Blake but I’m drooling over seeing Cate B in that gorgeous dress… maybe I can vote for her too hahah!!!!

  8. hampel September 18, 2010 at 00:40 #

FC, can u pls let us know whether you will write something about Victoria Beckhams new line cuz weve been waiting for so long

    • Fashion Critic September 18, 2010 at 08:47 #

Only reviewing the 100 shows I went to

      Did go to VB.

      I didn’t like it

It’s my least favorite collection from her

      • Ayesha September 18, 2010 at 12:12 #

        omg 100 SHOWS???

        • Fashion Critic September 18, 2010 at 12:26 #

          That was an exaggeration :)

          Felt like 100 :D

      • Lee Ann September 18, 2010 at 19:45 #

Have to agree. It was a very tired show- even the models were hideous- what mall did she find them in?

      • Marie September 19, 2010 at 01:47 #

Oh. you did go to the show? yeah its my least favourite from her too. But was expecting u wud write the review like before, also her new bag collection and when she was out in New York. What do u think about the bag?

        • Fashion Critic September 19, 2010 at 07:36 #

          I wasn’t invited unfortunately?

The bags are not too bad for a first attempt

I promise to do a full review at the end of Fashion Week

      • nokia September 19, 2010 at 18:37 #

Ahh thanks so much FC… i love you!!!

  9. Parvati September 18, 2010 at 00:53 #

I would have voted for Cate Blanchett, but it’s quite clear she’ s going to win anyway, so I voted for Alexis Bledel. I love the dress, which looks great on her!!!

  10. Charlotte September 18, 2010 at 00:59 #

I know that i should be adoring cate right now but why aren’t i? usually i am blown away in everything she wears! i still have dreams about that armani suit she wore to the Tony awards.
I hope that whatever is holding me back goes away so i can appreciate the beauty of Cat Blanchett.

FC, loved your coverage of Fashion Week! and i voted for you! You’re amazing! :)

    • Fashion Critic September 18, 2010 at 08:46 #

      Thanks for the vote

      Glad you enjoyed the coverage

  11. robbie September 18, 2010 at 01:00 #

cate all the way, none of them even get a look in when it comes to cate! QUEEN OF COUTURE! *bows down*

  12. maria September 18, 2010 at 01:13 #

Great week, indeed. So hard to choose.

  13. Laura September 18, 2010 at 03:28 #

Ok I’m not even saying who I’m voting for it’s that obvious. FC, just curious if you know what the largest margin of victory in a BDOTW has been because Cate very well could beat that.

And thanks for the great coverage of fashion week. It was a busy week so I had a hard time going through all the collections on Style.com. It’s so much easier going through your posts than clicking “next” 1,000 times.

    • Fashion Critic September 18, 2010 at 08:44 #

      You are welcome

Glad to hear you enjoyed my coverage

Not sure about the largest victory

  14. molly September 18, 2010 at 03:39 #

I have never had such a difficult time choosing!
It was a great week for fashion! I think Carey was the best. In my eyes anyways.

  15. Sara September 18, 2010 at 04:16 #

i’m saving my vote for cate til BDOTY ;) alexis bledel it is

    • Marvel September 18, 2010 at 16:22 #

Thats what I did. Cate is undeniably going to win so I went for my second vote, Blake!

  16. Regina September 18, 2010 at 04:27 #

No one can beat Cate. I woul vote for her in BDOTY contest

  17. Kimi September 18, 2010 at 05:02 #

CATE! CATE! CATE! She blew me away, even if the dress was black or so, I would still vote for her. She carried that dress so well.

But yeah, if Cate wasn’t in this poll, I would have voted for Alexis or Carey.

  18. Z FASHION BLOG September 18, 2010 at 06:06 #

This is a really tough one!!!

I loved lady Gaga’s McQueen look but Cate Blanchett is looking divine too..

I guess I’ll vote for her. That Lacroix dress is amazing.

Voted for you in the Lanvin comp!
Wow you’re already Number 2 in the UK and Number 9 WW. Congrats ;-)

    • Fashion Critic September 18, 2010 at 08:42 #

Thanks it would be amazing to be number 1

      • Z FASHION BLOG September 18, 2010 at 10:05 #

        HOpefully you will ;-)

        • Fashion Critic September 18, 2010 at 11:46 #

          fingers crossed

  19. Kiwi September 18, 2010 at 07:29 #

Cate is my pick.. but maybe u can also pick out the 2nd spot.. which is a tie between Alexis /Leighton

  20. shap_half September 18, 2010 at 08:10 #

I think there were two stand out looks from this week that could effectively make the year-end list: Leighton and Cate. Both look incredible in very different ways. I don’t know who to vote for.

  21. erika September 18, 2010 at 08:11 #

i bet you thought “well this poll is kinda pointless but anyway..” lol Cate is just marvelous, and Carey looks lovely. is amazing how when you see the collage and your eyes go immediately to the right upper corner, not even gaga with that blue hair and that thing on her head can steal Cate’s limelight, i don’t even think is the dress, is her majestic presence. lol well that dress is a piece of art though.

  22. Jeremy September 18, 2010 at 08:42 #

This will be my most favorite BDOTW…ever. It’s absolutely coincident that you see 10 beautiful women who: well-respected, hard-working (well there is one girl who jobless but at least she’s scandal free) actresses and singer at different age, country and ethnic. Some of them are already icons of their generation. And almost everyone is constantly in the “Best Dress” list. There is never a “safe” and “boring” in their fashion sense. Alright, I shut up now. But thank you FC for bring out such an amazing cover for an amazing week!

    • Fashion Critic September 18, 2010 at 11:47 #

it was very much my pleasure. x

  23. Victoria September 18, 2010 at 09:34 #

Cate looks amazing yes but my vote goes to Leighton! :D I love the cute and the sparkly, makes me want to buy one of my own right now. :)

  24. a September 18, 2010 at 09:38 #

my favourites are alexis, leighton and rachel bilson

  25. Maria September 18, 2010 at 10:14 #

Guau… this weeks is imposible, haha. Cate looked amazing but, I reaaally liked Blake, Carey and Alexis looks. I know everybody tells you this but, I’ve never seen such an amazing fashion blog like yours (WWD who?) and also I laugh a lot with your funny coments. You’re amazing, keep it going!!

    • Fashion Critic September 18, 2010 at 11:46 #

      You’re so sweet.

      Thanks Maria x

  26. Ayesha September 18, 2010 at 12:13 #

    CATE IS A CLEAR WINNER,no match….

  27. Pablo September 18, 2010 at 12:38 #

Oh my! Well, Cate obviously. But any other week Blake would’ve won hands down…

Incredible work, FC, I’m just amazed you managed to keep up with so much going on!! :)

After the Emmys (not bad but not impressive), Venice (who has taken over Cannes -imo- as the best dressed Festival) and Toronto (unexpectedly well-dressed ladies there too), non-stop show coverage at NFW!!

It was so exciting to follow you -virtually- around Manhattan!! :D Thanks so much!! And now just a small nap coz LFW is around the corner!! Yay!! xx

    • Fashion Critic September 18, 2010 at 13:00 #

hey Pablo, thanks for your support, I’m glad you enjoyed the coverage. xxx

  28. Joeward M. September 18, 2010 at 13:26 #

Cate Blanchett FTW! define glamour, sophisticated, and red carpet! she got it! Love Lady Gaga too but Cate Blanchett really nailed it. :]

  29. Hannah September 18, 2010 at 13:37 #

What an amazing week. Cate Blanchett no doubt. then Helen Mirren, then Jennifer Connely……
Thankyou Somuch for al your amazing hard work during fashion week, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did, and I hoep you have enough rest (which you will, after your hard work, inevitably need!) in order to enjoy the coming three weeks. Isn’t that what 5-6 hour flights are for?

    • Fashion Critic September 18, 2010 at 13:46 #

I will get some rest at some point ;)

      Thanks sweetie x

  30. Beatrice September 18, 2010 at 14:46 #

This week the choice is very hard!!
I think that Cate Blanchett is the most incredible dress I’ve ever seen!!

  31. mol September 18, 2010 at 15:41 #

I have to give credit where it’s due so I vote for Cate and regret that Lady Gaga in McQueen happened in the same week. I also really adored Alexis Bledel in Prrabal Gurung…….

  32. mandy September 18, 2010 at 16:58 #

    CATE BLANCHETT. Period!

  33. Sher September 18, 2010 at 20:26 #

I cant remember a week like this where I’d be happy if any of these looks won

    • Fashion Critic September 18, 2010 at 21:09 #

      In total agreement

  34. Lucy September 20, 2010 at 09:33 #

Cate, of course. She is a goddess. That dress is the perfect royalty !
