Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai were inspired by the 1980s Memphis design movement for their Vena Cava Spring 2011 presentation which took place this morning during New York Fashion Week.
We were presented with a lot of bold geometric shapes, colour-blocking, bright colours and prints.
That may all sound quite a bit rigid, but it was a very laid-back collection with many wear-right-now pieces.
Silk slip dresses, kimono tops, pantsuits, blazers, printed camisoles, pants paired with dresses, halter dresses, off-the-shoulder crop tops, shorts, flared skirts and high-waisted pants were presented.
The key accessories were statement necklaces, rope belts, black and orange headbands and wooden platforms.
The models walked at a very leisurely pace, no doubt to prevent any falls in those shoes.
Who I See Wearing This Collection: Shala Monroque, Liv Tyler and Maggie Gyllenhaal.
