Natalie Portman didn’t let us down tonight at her “Black Swan” Premiere during the 2010 Venice Film Festival Opening Ceremony this evening.
She looked radiant wearing a Rodarte gown – just as we suspected considering Rodarte’s ties with the movie.
Natalie’s claret silk tulle draped Rodarte gown was embellished with Swarovski crystals.
This look proves why Natalie and Rodarte work so well together. It’s a winning combination.
I love the draping and how the embellishments narrow her waist. I also love how she elegantly glides down the red carpet.
The new face of Dior added a Dior quilted clutch to her look.
Anyone rethinking their BDOTW?

*FAINTS* WOW WOW WOW!
I wish the dress was longer…
So do I. So much money and this lenght?! It could be so much better if it was longer…
Love it! Head to toe perfection
agreed. i cant stop staring at this pic…wow
i am dying, my jaw is still on the ground. i love natalie portman in this so so so much!
*faints*
I am absolutely in love with this gown, especially with the top of it. I guess I have my BDOTW for now.
when I think of her I always see …a Rodarte gown !! goes very well with red!!
Spectacular!! Never thought I would, but I’m actually rethinking my BDOTW!!
The dress is gorgeous and her hair and make-up are immaculate!! She’s pure elegance and at the same time she seems so natural and comfortable!!
Go Natalie!! Go Venice!!
definately a BDOTW contender!
She’s definitely my BDOTW. STUNNING. This is red carpet perfection <3
I agree BDOTW!!
Radiant!! She looks a Greek goddess.
BDOTW so far for me – stunning.
I think the dress is a little too fussy–leave off either the draping at the hips or at the shoulders and it will be muchbetter.
I love Natalie and I tried to love this gown, but I just couldn’t… the top is the problem for me, way too fussy
This is a really difficult dress to wear and she wears it beautifully. I actually am not overly keen on it but she makes it a beautiful dress. This would have been just plain ugly on a Jessica Simpson or Rhianna.
Lovely! Definitely BDOTW worthy!
I don’t know something about this gown seems off.
i love it too. Also the top covers her tan lines, which were very cleary seen during her photo call in her strapless purple dress. One of my pet peeves – haute cauture and bikini tan lines.
Natalie and Rodarte is a match made in heaven.
She knocked out “Emmy” girls and she’s not only BDOTW but for me she’s best dressed of few last months.
Perfection.
She is my BDOTW. I know there’s still a lot to see in the next days, but it would take a best-of-the-year-worthy outfit to beat this (to my eyes at least!). It doesn’t seem like an easy-to-wear dress, but it looks beautiful, elegant and positively gorgeous on her!
Perfection!
I was afraid that she was going to stick wearing Dior but Im glad thats not the case. Now if she wears a couple more Rodarte and some Lanvin, I’ll be really happy!
really? looks to over the top and costume like for me. to many things going on
I really love this shade of red, no orange in it, it works perfectly with Natalie’s dark beauty. But most of all, I love the ease with which she wears this gown, truly fluid glamour and how I wish every beautiful gown could be worn
gorgeous. i dont like the clutch or the shoes but that is besides the point. she looks radiant
The quilted clutch is a big no no with this amazing dress.
Perfection. I honestly wouldn’t change a thing.
woww!!!!!!! PERFECTION. She is such a pretty lady, she looked even more spectacular in Rodarte. BDOTW for sure!
Absolutely beautiful. Perhaps a smidge longer (just to be pedantic) but she put all the Emmy girls in the shade…no mean feat
OMG, she looks divine. Wonderful color, wonderful dress… Perfect make-up and hair-do… Of course, a lot of it goes to Ms. Portman herself, as she looks so refined. You can put a rag on her and she’d still look fab.
I like it! And love her hair up!!!
Margareth Made (in gorgeous Dolce and Gabbana) and Violante Placido both also looked amazing on the same red carpet at Venice Film Festival!
Beautiful! I love the color on her!
So beautiful! She’s the BDOTW in my opinion, even if the week isn’t over yet.
I’m not super ga-ga about this look. She looked beautiful, but she didn’t make my jaw drop as she did at the 2008 Cannes, with a few Lanvin frocks and a white hot origami Givenchy dress. It’s just that I’m not a huge fan of Rodarte, esp. not the shreds and nets and use of chiffon (which is different from the way Vera Wang uses it). The bottom part of this gown – the chiffon curtain – doesn’t appeal to me.
Ah.. what a treat. I open up the page and Natalie pops up looking absolutely stunning. She looks gorgeous!
I honestly don’t like the clutch with this gown.
She’s FAB! the color she choose, the heels wow so amazing. I can’t say anything bad. Very good sense of fashion
Wow.. though I do wish the length was a wee bit longer
LOVE IT!
She’s my BDOTW so far.
Rodarte has always had that quirky/edgy twist to beautiful gowns which I never could understand…but when worn by someone as classy as Portman, you just have this magical combo which is bound to make jaws drop!
BDOTW contender for sure!
it’s a bit too Scheherazade in Arabian Nights for my taste.
I am absolutely in love with her make-up and hair though.
I adore it !!! But wasn’t Mila Kunis there too?
nope
Stunning! She looks divine. Her hair and makeup are perfection, The dress floats and fits and flatters her to perfection and I love her shoes are metallic and not those hideous heavy black pumps stylists keep pairing with floaty feminine gowns. So gorgeous!
Um.. maybe it’s the draping over the hips?? I don’t know it looks a little Black Swan on Ice to me.
I was under the impression that Natalie was vegan and refused to wear leather products, so I wonder what her Dior clutch is made of since they mainly use leathers in their products.
This is amazing. Is it the same dress Emma Watson wore in white a while back (I forget what for)?
This dress is sooo beautiful and Natalie wears it well. Just wish it was a tad longer so it was a little more dramatic. A BDOTW contender for sure!
I agree it should be longer and those shoes are not cute and the clutch is just not working for me, but i also agree that her make-up and hair is beautiful and she carries the dress well.
I don’t like this dress at all. It’s just too much going on. The color is reading very cheap.
Sequins, pleating, high slit, chiffon, straps, cap sleeves…just a mess. I’d fire her stylist if I could.
She looks fabulous. However, there’s one thing that always bugs me about Natalie is that if she’s carrying a clutch, it usually doesn’t complement her outfit. In this case, the clutch looks more casual. A small Judith Leiber clutch would’ve done nicely.
