Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: September 2010

Now this is what you call a Roberto Cavalli gown.

Deliciously OTT and in yer face.

I kinda wish this was the gown Heidi Klum wore instead of Leona Lewis who doesn’t quite have the presence to make me love it and forget that it’s a shocking coral colour.

Jennifer Lopez would made me love this gown, because she would’ve given us nothing but divalious attitude and totally pulled it off.

Leona wore this Roberto Cavalli coral strapless corseted gown with layers of lace and tulle to the designers 40th Anniversary Party which was held in Paris last night.

How much do you hate it…I mean love it?

Many of you have asked for my thoughts on Victoria Beckham’s Spring 2011 collection and I’ve resisted for 2 reasons.

Firstly, I’ve only been reviewing shows I have attended and secondly I really disliked the collection and I don’t like giving bad reviews.

It took me 3 attempts to go through the collection on Style.com because I was so bored by what I saw.

The first time I only got to look 4 before I clicked off the site because I was so bored.

The second time I got to look 16 before doing the same thing. The third time I got to look 26 because by this time I was interested to see what the fuss was about.

Sorry to break it to you, but the only thing I liked about this collection was the rose gold Brian Atwood heels and her new range of bags.

I wish she’d consider designing for someone other than herself.

Some of the pieces looked quite sloppy and poorly constructed.

This is the only collection Victoria has presented that I wouldn’t want a single piece in my closet.

I also found her statement about celebrating curves laughable and the make-up was horrific.

Two gowns in a row??

Someone check Heidi Klum’s pulse immediately.

The supermodel who usually only wears dresses above the knee, wore a Roberto Cavalli gown to the designers 40th Anniversary Party in Paris last night.

I don’t think this pinky beige gown with beading details come close to her previous spectacular Roberto Cavalli look at the amfAR Milano event.

This is because I’m confused about what’s going on around the waist.

Without much definition and with the draped detail the gown makes her look a tad boxy, but that could just be the angle of this picture.

I do love the hair.

This is how to do uncomplicated hair without looking like you’re stepping out to the Mall.

Indian beauty Aishwarya Rai looked breath-taking at Roberto Cavalli’s 40th Anniversary Party in Paris last night.

She is the epitome of glamour and elegance.

The actress could have pulled off shorter Roberto Cavalli Resort 2009 dress as worn by Milla Jovovich and Paris Hilton, but instead she opted for the longer gown.

The silver fish-scale-like gown with fringed details along the bust was a perfect party look.

Wavy hair and an pop of colour courtesy of a blue satin clutch completed the look.

Zac Posen’s Spring 2011 collection was presentation this morning in Paris.

The salon at the Hotel Westin was the perfect setting for his collection which was inspired by the Marchesa Casati and the style of the French designer-socialite, Comtesse Jacqueline de Ribes.

When Karlie Kloss opened the show wearing red ombre feathered jacket with beetroot pants I was pleasantly surprised the show started so aggressively.

Zac then moved onto the sexy dresses I was expecting which were sheer, had cut out details and accented with feathers.

The ostrich feather theme continued through-out the collection appearing on gowns, jumpsuits, tweed jackets and sprouting from the hips of skirts and pants.

The red, black and orange colour palette gave the collection a rich, sensual luxurious feel.

Models stormed the runway with their hair in a classic French pleat and rouge lips.

The strappy sandals were by Manolo Blanhink and the chain cuffs were designed by Yaz Bukey.

Model highlight was Coco Rocha who walked for her designer pal. She always lights up the runway.

Front Row: Leigh Lezark and Miss J

Favourites: Red jumpsuit and black sheer cocktail dress with lilac embroidery

Who I See Wearing This Collection: Claire Danes, Megan Fox, Coco Rocha, Devon Aoki, Demi Moore, Kate Beckinsale, Nicole Richie, Zoe Kravitz and Kerry Washington

Rachel Bilson attended the Roberto Cavalli Spring 2011 runway show in Milan, so it wasn’t a surprise to see her at the Roberto Cavalli 40th Anniversary Party in Paris last night.

The star looked gorgeous wearing a Roberto Cavalli leopard print gown from the Pre-Fall 2010 collection.

Gorgeous from the neck down because I hate her hair.

I’ve gotten over the ombre colour, it’s the style and the fried ends I hate.

I wish she’d put it all back in a sleek updo.

Could’ve been a contender.
