Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: August 2010

Shimmer & Shine Award
Connie Britton was nominated in the “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series” category for “Friday Night Lights” at the 2010 Emmy Awards last night.

The actress looked alluring and graceful in her custom-made petrol blue sequin strapless Burberry gown.

She shyly shimmered down the red carpet like she was unaware of how totally fabulous she looked.

Neil Lane jewels and an embellished Judith Leiber clutch completed her look.

I Know You Hate It, But I Love It Award
I thought “True Blood” actress star Carrie Preston looked stunning on the red carpet at the 2010 Emmy Awards last night.

I have a feeling a lot of people will dislike her custom Makoto Takada print gown, but I think she looked breathtakingly refreshing in her patterned gown.

It was a huge risk, but it paid off.

I love the way the strap detail around the midsection wraps around to her body. The length and cut of the dress makes her appear taller.

I can’t gush about this dress enough.

Erica Courtney jewels, a Christian Louboutin clutch and nude Louboutin peep-toes completed her look.

What No L’Wren Scott? Award
Apart from her gorgeous husband, Kyra Sedgwick is faithful to two things.

L’Wren Scott and a fitted silhouette.

That all changed at the 2010 Emmy Awards last night.

The winner of the Emmy for “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series” for “The Closer”, looked stunning in a burgundy Monique Lhuillier Fall 2010 gown.

Her strapless gown was teamed with an armful of jeweled Ofira bangles and pink VBH clutch.

I love the contrasting clutch, the refreshing silhouette and the autumn colour on Kyra.

She’s a winner in my eyes.

Best Dressed Award
I finally found my Best Dressed at the 2010 Emmy Awards.

Dianna Agron totally blew me away in her Carolina Herrera Resort 2011 gown.

I was convinced my favourite was Claire Danes, until I saw this look.

For an Emmy first-timer Dianna knocked it out of the ballpark.

Her romantic tiered lace ball-gown has a princess-type feel to it, but not in a cheesy way.

The “Glee” actress exudes elegance. She has such poise for a newcomer.

This the second time Dianna has worn a Carolina Herrera dress and looked amazing on the red carpet.

I hope this is a start of a red carpet partnership.

Most Predictable Award
No one should be surprised that Julianna Margulies is wearing black on the red carpet at the 2010 Emmy Awards.

But the “Good Wife” nominated actress described her L’Wren Scott Fall 2010 gown as navy blue, which makes more sense when you study the gown on the model.

The navy beaded fitted gown gave her an amazing silhouette. Her body is a-mazing

I was pleasantly surprised by her hairstyle.

It’s not often we see such volume from Julianna.

Most Disappointing Award
Sofia Vergara really let me down on the red carpet at the 2010 Emmy Awards tonight.

The colour of her Carolina Herrera gown is gorgeous against her glowing skin, but I really didn’t like the sequin embellishments.

This is coming from someone who loves embellishments and sequins on the red carpet.

The sequins taken this lemon gown on at trip to tackyville unfortunately.

I tried to love it, but I couldn’t find an ouch of love for this gown.
