Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: August 2010

Absolutely gorgeous.

Jessica Alba became one of the front runners for BDOTW yesterday night at the LA Premiere for “Machete”.

With shoulders that sharp this look is of course by Balmain.

I know many of you are o.v.e.r this type of bold shouldered look, but I love Jessica’s black and gold sequined zigzag patterned mini dress.

Her show-stopping figure-hugging dress was paired with Christian Louboutin Tinazata 120 cut-out boots.

She kept accessories minimal with a few bangles and her hair was styled in loose sexy waves.

Do you agree that Jess is a BDOTW contender?

Prince Nikolaos of Greece and Tatiana Blatnik were married in a beautiful ceremony yesterday as the sun was setting over the Mediterranean at Cathedral of Ayios Nikolaos on the island of Spetses in Greece.

How very romantic.

Hundreds of tourists and residents cheered as the bride arrived in a horse drawn carriage.

She wore a traditional lace gown created by Venezuelan designer Angel Sanchez.

Her simple yet beautiful lace gown was paired with a Grecian style tiara.

Congrats to the happy couple.

We all know how much Olivia Palermo loves Bensoni, but it was Jennifer Love Hewitt who was the first to wear this purple animal print dress from the designers Spring 2010 collection.

The actress/author wore the dress back in March when she signed copies of her new book, “The Day I Shot Cupid”, at Barnes and Noble at Huntington Beach, California.

She kept her look very minimal by only adding black cut-out wedges.

Olivia wore her Bensoni dress to Elie Saab’s Fall 2010 Couture presentation.

Known for her impeccable style and keen eye for accessorizing, Olivia paired her dress with a contrasting animal print belt, nude t-bar heels and a silver clutch.

Olivia wins easily for me because her accessories make the look.

I recently purchased a Topshop leopard print belt in an attempt to recreate the clashing prints.  I hope I pull it off as well as Olivia.

Jay Z and Beyonce Knowles have moved on from Portoferraio in Italy to St. Tropez in France.

The power couple were joined by family and friends as they left their yacht headed to Club 55.

We all know mixing prints is on trend, but Beyonce has taken it to the next level to create her latest vacation look.

I see leopard print, ikat print and African print.

I’m wincing at the way Beyonce has tied a knot in her £795/$1,225 Dries Van Noten embellished ikat shirt like it’s an inexpensive shirt.

Isn’t she worried some of the embellishments are going to fall off?

This is quite an interesting look, but I’m only loving it from the waist up.

I’m not crazy about those Boxing Kitten’s Kitt shorts and the same goes for the bag.

But I am loving the gangster rapper-esqe ghetto gold.

This Dries Van Noten shirt is available exclusively at Browns Fashion.

Dasha Zhukova loves to cause a stir with her Pop magazine covers.

Her previous cover featured teen blogger Tavi Gevinson, this time around it’s Britney Spears.

Artist Takashi Murakami art directed the cover, which was shot by Todd Cole.

On one cover Britney wears a wedding dress with a stone-encrusted veil, whereas the second cover she dons a navy blue leotard with a hot pink backpack.

The whole concept is clearly aimed to poke fun at her schoolgirl image during “Baby One More Time”, but I find the whole thing very predictable, dated and unbelievable.

I just don’t buy this goody two-shoes image. Especially not after witnessing Britney’s tragic melt down.

Sorry Britney, you’re not that innocent.

Katy Perry also made an appearance on “Late Night with David Letterman”, to promote her new album “Teenage Dream”.

If you have a sweet tooth, you might want to look away now.

Katy wore one of my favourite looks from the Zuhair Murad Fall 2010 Couture ‘Romantic Intimacy’ collection.

She does crazy, edgy, sexy now she’s giving us adorable wearing a pink silk and tulle party dress.

This look might be too sickly sweet for some, but I love everything about this dress from the crystal embellished bustier bodice, to the sweet feminine bow on the waist, to the rosette detailed skirt.

Matching ankle strap peep-toes complete her gorgeous look.

Katy Perry arrived at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York wearing a coral Hervé Léger bandage dress which she paired with Christian Louboutin gold spiked heels.

The colour looks great against Katy’s skin tone.

I don’t think it could fit any better.

Drew Barrymore started off the tribal earrings trend, and it looks like Katy has followed suit.

Christian Louboutin gold spiked heels complete the look.
